Where do you get your news?

I use feedly and inoreader to sign up to loads of places so I get a wide spectrum of news from far left to far right and a wide range of political viewpoints.

Where do you get your news?

If its local stuff, from local sources. If it involves opinions or judgements or anything at all political, I access multiple sources, if I'm interested, to try to get the truth. I avoid anything stating an opinion in the Daily E/M, Telegraph or similar now. It's just a waste of energy.

It's just astonishing the bias and (usually older as younger more savvy)people's inability to question what they read. That's up to them and it doesn't bother me until they start to repeat uneducated nonsense as fact in a discussion where they are adamant they are correct.

For US politics I go to sources...

Steven Colbert opening monologue

The Daily Show on comedy central

And Ring of fire. In that order.

Something is really wrong when the best news coverage of US politics comes from comedians and a crowd sourced youtube site!

For world news I generally rely on the BBC service, Al Jazeera, CNN and Radio Moscow.

UK news the BBC, Channel4 and The Guardian on line.

For the US,.... CNN, MSNBC,... the major networks (ABC, NBC and CBS) and the Huffington Post.......

Have you ever listened to radio moscow or watched al jazeera?

I find that quite often they add to my understanding of current affairs because their slant can be so different to that of UK and US media. Also quite often they cover events that UK and US media fail to report.

Where it comes from is highly relevant. If you're only information says that there are millions of people committing voter fraud you'll be more likely to think it happens even though it doesnt.

If you read only pro Brexit outlets you wont even hear about the obvious flaws in the negotiations so far. The Sun even pretended that the Tories failure to get the scheduling was actually a victory!

Im in a pretty good mood, not sad at all

I mentioned both voter fraud and the scheduling because they are two things in recent news that had been misrepesented by certain news outlets.

You must be paranoid about the whole Brexit thing. Reminds me of Basil Fawlty and cant mention the war

Most news is depressive, although get whats going on with a variety of sources, generally get the gist from headlines and then decipher whats going on without the reporter telling me what to think.

Used to have bbc news 24 on all the time and then woke up and saw it for what it is.

Theres always 3 sides to a story.

It's wise to watch and read everything I can these days, I follow a lot of individual independent stuff on you tube.

Don't watch BBC much these days. Sky sometimes, sometimes Rt, sometimes Al jezzera,

Most of the news feeds on Google come from guardian and independent so if I read an article I take it with a pinch of salt along with the telegraph and daily mail.

I find a lot of articles are spun either left or right wing, so I try and make my own judgement on what's really happening.

Thanks for the replys.

On my feedly and inoreader account I have probably over 1000 sources from news, financial blogs, YouTube subscriptions, independent journalists, far right to far left.

Being able to use logic and reasoning to ask questions and being able to spot logical fallacies and cognitive biases helps.

On TV - Sky News, BBC News and an occasional foray into RT, Al Jazeera and CNN. Used to watch Fox but it disappeared when I downgraded my Sky subscription.
