Hugely unpopular Prime Minister pushes for statue of hugely unpopular Prime Minister

By positioning the statue in Parliament Square, the PM is hoping to deflect attention from the considerable carnage of her premiership

She will stand there cold and emotionless surveying the division and strife of the land where she once held a semblance of power.

As for the statue, I have no idea what it will look like.

Im told the thatcher staue has been withdrawn for vandalism fears.

Any tory statue from recent history would be vandalised. Not surprising really as they are for the few and not the many cruel heartless bastards.

The anger and hatred of some is incomprehensible. To get to the point where they condone criminal activity, which will result in emergency services allocating resources that could be better spent on more important matters. Disgraceful.

Get a grip. Were discussing a lump of metal. A controversial figure that caused unrest and caused division erected in public woll only serve to stir unrest. If it were indoors in Parliament it would be in more fitting surroundings and context.

I feel bad for her family. Imagine a statue of your mum being vandalised and being the focus of unrest

There is a large Labour slab monument going spare from Ed Miliband's doomed 2015 general election campaign, maybe they could carve the new statue from it to save costs, Labour and Miliband don't want it any more it must be going cheap.

You're deluding yourself if you don't want to believe that the Conservative Party still has massive support throughout the country. Even with the worst election camping I've ever seen they still got 42% of the vote and still technically won the election. You're also deluding yourself if you believe that 42% of voters are selfish bastards who don't give a shit about schools, social care and the health service or that 42% is not part of the many but is just the few. A lot of people still simply don't trust Labour on the economy at all, even quite a few who voted for them this time round.

No. The established elite who bullshit the masses.

The line that ambitious people strive and become successful. This though usually (cameron era) means exploiting those less fortunate. A type of pyramid scheme protecting the existing wealth of a privileged elite by a. Cutting taxes to the wealthy, and by legitimising greed as if were a virtue.

"The anger and hatred of some is incomprehensible. To get to the point where they condone criminal activity, which will result in emergency services allocating resources that could be better spent on more important matters. Disgraceful.

Correct.

They talk about the nasty party but don't mind indulging in their very own nastiness when it suits."

There is a difference.

One being people that are taking the brunt of austerity (the disabled for example) being demonised by nice man cameron (author of we're all in this together bollocks) , ids etc.. Being disrespectful to their tory masters, and disgraceful sttitudes by the tories who actually write their vile vitriolic nasty shite into government policy!!

Attacking the disabled and you moan on about people being 'nasty' about a statue.

During the world banking crisis a banker's wife bemoaned about not being able to take their helicopter on holiday with them.. They call that suffering?! How about the disabled being shit on by the tories for austerity? A political choice and a tiny percentage of the budget and you whinge on because people poke fun a a statue.. You should be ashamed of yourself.

I agree somebody who attacks an inanimate object is irrelevant compared to the brutality a government can inflict upon real people and their lives. You guys in the right care more about an image of somebody who incites rage in other person.Than the reason for the rage.
