It was SUCH a good idea to invite Trump for a state visit. Almost as good as holding a General Election

Ha and I thought the Americans were a laughing stock with Trump but now...... well..... looks like Trump & May have definitely got that "special relationship" going full bore

If you'd been watching BBC breakfast this morning it was made clear exactly why there is a possibility that the Queens Speech may be delayed by a couple of days, and it's all to do with paper.

Because the Queens Speech is printed on Goats Skin paper (because it is the only paper that doesn't deteriorate over time), it takes 3 days for the ink to dry on it.

Had the Conservatives secured a majority last week, then the Queens Speech would have been printed by now, but, as they need to reach an agreement with the DUP, the contents of the speech are not yet entirely clear.

It may be the case that things can be agreed upon today, in which case, it should be possible for the document to be prepared in time, but if it takes a few days to finalise the details then there will likely be a delay.

The Queens speech will contain the details of a manifesto that nobody voted for. Those who voted Conservative to get Grammar schools, dementia tax and a hard Brexit are not going to get that because the Scottish Conservatives and the DUP won't support those things.
