i don't think he realises that within the framework its the individual countries that set their own targets....

also.... he just threw all of the green sector jobs in the us that the rest of the world will be leading towards under the bus.....

california for example as a state has tighter enviromental codes than anything in the paris agreement and they are thriving... for examples it forces us car manufacturers to build more fuel efficent cars.... if the rest of the world is going one way and the US is now going to under it will lose more long term jobs than the short term ones he would gain....

We've had 26 years of a single superpower. It's things like this and his anti-globalisation policies that could open the door to China to become the worlds leader.

not quite... he actually made it a little harder for his successor to do that (a poison pill) basically he is allowed to backdate it till the point where he was elected... which means the date is the 4th nov 2020.....

the date of the next election is 3 november 2020.... which means the next one will have to completely go back in....

Hes made it a big election issue.I see California has already said it will take its lead from China and EU on climate change.

He can pull out of the 1992 agreement which would end it faster, he said today he wouldnt follow that course but with Trump its possible he'd change his mind.

Solar alone employs more people in the US than goal, gas and oil. But its Republicans being voted in and being funded by areas and companies that are in the fossil fuel industry so thats all that matters.

"I see California has already said it will take its lead from China and EU on climate change."

as i said early... california's enviromental standards are way above anything in the paris agreement... which is why you see for eaxmple a lot more electric and hydrogen cars,

most "left coast" states are following california's standards...

new york state is looking into bringing in the same standards..... what you may find is that democratic states may follow california's standards.....

the problem is the us basically has given up the chance to lead and innovate.... russia, china, europe will now take the lead in green technology....

i think trump is also banking on there being pushback from the rest of the world so he can play the "us vs them" card.....

By 2025, solar may be cheaper than using coal on average globally if the manufacture costs continues to drop.

.

Why do you think the US have completely surrounded China with military bases?

No he just kept his promise to the electorate and the people who voted for him. He made it crystal clear he would do this on his election campaign trail. Whether you agree on his position on climate change or not it's refreshing to see a politician who actually keeps and fulfills promises.

State governors, city mayors.....including Trumps beloved Pittsburgh are queuing up to say they will stick to the agreement. So basically Trumps statement is nothing but blowing smoke up his own arse!

Yes, I did love that:

Trump: I was elected to represent Pittsburgh, not Paris

Major of Pittsburgh: we are sticking to the goals of the Paris agreement.

Just shows how out of touch he is with his electorate.

Yeah right..

All it shows is stupid people believed a stupid promise made by someone who is in out of step with the majority of not only the rest of the world's leaders but also a significant number of the leaders of the states within his own country..
