She was absolutley awful. Even Tim Farron gave a better account of himself.

Theresa May made it plain that she wouldn't do any head to head TV debates as soon as the election was called, and she hasn't moved from that stance.

The incumbent has nothing to gain and much to lose, and that's why Tony Blair, David Cameron and now Theresa May have all stuck to that policy.

I think 'coalition of chaos' as a slogan is going to be just as successful as 'strong and stable' is turning out to be.

Maybe the Tories should try offering something of substance instead (un-detailed Brexit boasts aside)

If anyone hasn't seen it, try to catch the full video of May gurning her face off today when being asked by Laura K and another journo at one of her 'meet the voter at gunpoint' events if she is bottling it, it is honestly difficult not to feel sorry for her she has lost it do badly.

Of course, Centaur probably sees her choking and gasping for air while turning green as a tactical master stroke!

I think it's a vain hope that the electorate are going to take home the message coalition of chaos. The message theyll take home is that our PM couldnt be arsed to show up for a debate because she's either arrogant and dim or just doesnt give a shit

Mrs May refuses to debate with her opponents because she knows she can not successfully defend her record.

Let me expand:

She claims to be a strong and stable leader but in the last 3 months she has:

Said there will be no election before 2020 because a period of stability was needed to negotiate and navigate our divorce from the EU. We are now in the middle of a general election campaign. U turn!

Her chancellor announced an increase in NI taxation, but called it rebalancing, However it was quickly reversed when she realised how unpopular it was. U turn.

Last week she announced her dementia tax on all property worth over £100,000 but within 24 hours when she realised that on top of her removal of winter fuel allowance from all but the poorest was not being well received she had done another U turn. Of course on this occasion it was not a full U turn because she is saying that it will be capped. Of course the cap (regardless of where it is set) means that the more you have the lower a % of your worth will be taken in the dementia tax. So its another tax that benefits the richest, like every other Tory economic policy in the last 7 years.

However I am quite confident that may of the bottom 70% who are being impoverished to increase the wealth of the top 1% will vote Tory on June 8, and that is the real shame. Turkeys not just voting for Christmas but cheering the slaughter man (in this case a woman) as they sharpen the gutting knife.
