Would he have been a good leader here? (In principle, with UK centric policies of course).

Yes... of course ! Just like Hollande was !

But actually ...Worse !

I specially love that statement :

"On February 22, visiting the French expatriates in London, Macron said: "French culture does not exist, there is a culture in France and it is diverse"."

Hey Shag, Doesn't that remind you of the politicians back in Sweden ?

And look how well that is working !

the frontnational will implode .... like all right wing parties they will now be petrified to turn their back on each other for fear of get a knife stuck in it .... if they fuck up in the parliamentry election and get just 10-15 seats, the party plebs will slit marine's and philpott's throats politically speaking and marion will step up to the plate ... she will be forced to drop the idea of frexit in a vague attempt to appeal to the wider public, the resounding majority of which want to continue to be one of the two major players in the EU

it's showing signs of already happening .... things will teeter on the edge for a bit, but it's looking like a wholesale collapse of everything to the right of centre in france is on the cards ... french conservatism, fascism et al will be a relic for a long time, especially if europe give britain a kicking over brexit. brexit will offer him a massive distraction for the people ... they'll be baying for british tory blood by this time next year

he's very, very intelligent..which will be a breath of fresh air in modern politics ,also he seems to have good understanding of both the economic needs of the country as well as very euro and world, centric politics...i'm delighted he's won...makes me even sadder we have brexit as we are going to miss out on potentially excellent allies in a changing europe

Like all leaders time will tell. He won a democratic process so as far as the French voters are concerned he had more going for him than the other candidates. End of.

Here we are "knocking" a democratically elected leader. He's failure! He's another Hollande and so on.... Give the guy a chance to prove you right or wrong. None of you know what is like, what he is going to do, yet to date your prophecies have been wrong - he won Le Penn didn't. Give him a chance - like let's see what May will achieve - then let's judge on fact not fiction!

If he is as good as his word (and there is no reason to believe he is not), then things have just got a lot worse for us this side of the channel.

After all he has said he will tare up the bilateral agreement between France and the UK which keeps 10's of thousands of refugees on the far side of the channel, and that he will actively seek to attract UK based financial services companies and banks to leave the UK and move to Paris by placing barriers to UK/French financial business as soon as the UK leaves the EU.

His background and choices are a good pointer.

Macron finished his last year of school at the ELITE Lycée Henri-IV in Paris.

He graduated from the École nationale d'administration (ENA) in 2004. It is one of the most ELITE French schools …the ENA thus stands as one of the symbols of the meritocracy, along with the other grandes écoles, offering its alumni access to high positions in the public and private sectors.

The Best man at his wedding in 2007 was Henry Hermand, fifty something years his senior!? A French businessman, media executive and political advisor, he was the founder of Progest, a developer of shopping centres in Europe, North Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa. He was a co-founder of Terra Nova, a think tank with ties to the Socialist Party. He was also a donor and mentor to president elect Emmanuel Macron. Hermand loaned €550,000 to Macron for the purchase of his first apartment in Paris when he was Inspector of Finances, he also let Macron use some of his CHEAP offices on the AVENUE DES CHAMPS ÉLYSÉES in Paris for his movement En Marche. At his death in November 2016 Hermand was reputedly worth €220m.

Macron paid €50,000 to buy himself out of his government contract as an Inspector of Finances in the French Ministry of Economy in 2008, and left to work as an INVESTMENT BANKER at a highly-paid position at ROTHSCHILD & CIE BANQUE.

Not only does Macron believe in open door immigration, in June 2015, Macron and his German counterpart Sigmar Gabriel published a platform advocating a continuation of European integration. He also advocates the creation of a post of the EU Commissioner that would be responsible for the Eurozone and Eurozone's Parliament and a common budget.

Himself a convert to Roman Catholicism (as was Bliar) Macron condemned "religious schools that teach hatred towards the Republic, with instruction mainly in Arabic or, in other instances, which teach the Torah more than basic fundamentals!?” Macron thus equates the Torah with the Koran-inspired Islamic terrorism which has destroyed the lives of so many French people!?…More than a touch of anti-Semitism i.e. RACISM from Macron given that French Jews have been specifically targeted and murdered by French-born koran-inspired islamo-fascists.

And just as amazing is the fact that not only was the Grand Mosque of Paris not in the least bit offended by his statement but in fact rather strangely called on Muslims in France to “vote massively” for Emmanuel Macron.

Macron’s real record on this speaks for itself when he said of Mohamed Saou a departmental manager of En Marche who promoted on Twitter the classic Islamist statement: "I AM NOT CHARLIE"!?: "He [Saou] did a couple things a little bit radical. But anyway, Mohamed is a good guy, a very good guy"!?

A combination of Blair/Mandelson/Cameron, this privileged, pampered and ‘groomed’-for-high-office, cash-rich, Establishment-connected reptile will be taking his orders from Mummy No.3 Merkel... and the Grand Mosque.

If you had any historical notion of French politics actually read previous posts you would know why I cite Hollande!

I made a comparison that is obviously too complex for you !

Feel free to make comparisons as to howHollande's pre-election campaign promises and Marcons were identical.

Lol... that wasn't my point !

Its got more to do with Expectations by the left on how France would lead in Europe and get back to the path of proper social democracy and... prosperity !

Then, like now all the political commentators and pundits were defending and promoting a new era in France and Europe ..... but as we know.... Hollande didn't deliver !

Macron was his minister .... and similar expectations abound about him....

so .... stay tuned....
