"Did I just hear that? "

Yes Jean Claude Juncker's leak to the press about a private meeting with Theresa May was designed to damage her and the Conservatives. I call that trying to influence the outcome of the election. It has backfired on Juncker and the EU in spectacular fashion now though, Theresa May has used it to her advantage.

i'd be much more inclined to believe that if this wasn't the same woman who in her lancaster house speech basically threatened to turn the UK into an offshore tax haven if she doesn't get her way....

this plays into the fearing "everyone is out to get us/ little englander" mentality that plays well with the right wing press

all the EU have ever said so far is that there things that will need to be sorted before they discuss any trade deal.... and sorting out financial obligations was one of them...

The British public already know what hard Brexit looks like, they voted for it last June. All the main players on both sides of the referendum campaign said a vote to leave means leaving the single market. Now the British public just want it delivered on.

Says the prime minister,

Who has accepted the will of the majority,

In a democratic vote.

Says the prime minister,

Who is now ensuring,

The will of the majority,

In that democratic vote,

is both respected,and fulfilled.

That's the woman,we should

All be backing.

.

What party leader doesn't think,

the EU will be a big factor in this election.

Especially when the EU,is the only reason,

We are having an election??

It is an appalling state of affairs that this country including its Prime Minister is exploding into anger fuelled rants that are wholly Based on falsehoods and which spread blatant lies.

The EU have not threatened the U.K., not once, not ever. The EU has not stated anything about any kind of Brexit bill - these figures have been conjoured by the British press. The EU are not responsible for the timing of EU related comments being made by all sorts of people at a time when Brexit is in the news and at the time that SHE called the election.

This country is quite literally tearing itself apart and Prime Minister May ought to be ashamed of herself for what she has said today. The really daft thing is that her speech will indeed rouse the oiks, riff raff and dimwits who get all excited at the prospect of celebrating a great Dunkerkesque disaster. For the rest of us, we ought to feel a little bit insulted that our Leader would make such a transparent effort to appeal to a certain section of the electorate by blatantly lying to them.

This rant from the PM is all about capturing UKIP voters and trying to pretend that strong and stable leadership is what is required because those nasty foreign folk in Brussels are being oh so horrid. The woman is deluded, dangerous and demented. Pathetic posturing which plays well for the swivel eyed loons at the Daily Mail, Telegraph, Express and Sun and their readership. This is just so transparently political game playing and, to give her her due, it will work.

Theresa May's hardening position against the EU is for the "domestic" market, and not anything to do with the EU.

She is gaining Labour and UKIP voters by the bucket load and it's now only the size of her majority that is in question. UKIP will be pushed into history, and Labour into obscurity.

Once back into Downing St with the country's backing, then I think that both her and the EU will soften somewhat.

May made an amazing speech, in response to the bullying tactics of juncker and his cronies. The more the EU try to influence the harder the resolve is to ensure we negotiate well and the larger the conservative majority will be when the vote is counted.

Imagine the crap that would have come out of JC,s mouth if he had been on the receiving end of these comments

Rant, it wasn't a rant, it was a well thought out and well delivered response to bullying tactics by Juncker
