Yes you are.

We have an agreement with the EU and that agreement is enacted by the 1972 act. We also have an agreement with the EU on how to leave, and that is by article 50.

When we've left the EU we are going to want to make Trade Agreements with both the EU and other countries. How likely do you think either the EU or anyone else would be to believe we'll stick to our side of any agreement if we start of the process by breaking every agreement we agreed to with the EU?

It's about credibility.

Credibility!!!

Haha thats a good one, you make it sound like states join treaties and leave treaties like the good old boys club?.

The exact opposite is true every major country has walked away from a number of treaty obligations.

Take the Golan heights for example, Syrian territory that was captured by Israel in the six day war of the 60s , tried to claim it as necessary for protection but against UN rulings and findings, eventually came to an agreement with Syria about returning in the 80s but thought..Ahh fuck it lets build Israeli houses on it instead... Then they discover oil on it thanks to that us oil company genie oil (look up the current members on the strategic planning board just for a laugh) and a big fuck you to every treaty and UN resolution going.

And why? Because theres profit in it.

Treaties have always been a fucking joke which nobody pays any attention to whatsoever

We agreed how we would leave, which is via article 50 notification.

If you go to restaurant you usually leave through the door. If you chose instead to throw a chair through the window and walk out through the window, how many other restaurants would want your business?

I don't think Donald Trump would care if we smashed the EU's windows. One of his administration said on the news a couple of days ago the USA is ready to do a free trade deal with the UK as soon as possible.

We're not the size of Greenland which nobody cares about. We're the 6th largest economy so risking trade with Europe for a grand gesture ain't smart
