"With about a week to go, who do you reckon will win, it will be a close race. I reckon marine might win."

The far left candidate seems to be climbing the polls. I haven't seen the official polls. But I believe it'll be close.

We can only hope it's Miss Penn, France needs shacking up, and she is definitely the lady to do it

What I find interesting is that a majority of the young in the UK voted to remain in the EU (allegedly) and we are told it's because they are less racist more open and outward looking blah blah blah, yet the biggest group supporting Le Penn and FN and their anti EU stance in France are the young. Some 40% of 18-24 year olds support FN. Why is this? Could it be that the youth of France see a bigger picture or are they wrong?

Well living here we have seen first hand the feeling of the French. It's definitely a worrying time and some are concerned. A year ago they dismissed FN as a no hoper. The Fillon scandal has rocked the status quo and they are worried. FN poster's are defaced or ripped off shortly after being errected so it's pretty toxic. We only have 10 days to see. She will be in the 2nd round but with whom? The problems here are the same as everywhere jobs are being lost to 3rd world countries where costs are cheaper. So who rules - big business?

Is it filled with people from countries that France colonised and forced them to speak French? Maybe France shouldn't have colonised so many countries?

no you didn't just ask a question. your question was preceded by a paragraph of made up stuff about the political stance of the youth demographic of france, which is merely a thinly veiled attempt to bollster your usual alt-reich stance in the forums. and you do give a fuck as will be demonstrable by the reply you're about to make to this post.

They are either illegal immigrants and should be deported, or they are legal immigrants that France has let it, so they cant really complain.

So going by that 60% of 18-24 year olds in France don't support Le Penn giving a good majority then like the poll here you mentioned for 18-24 year olds voting remain.

True but that 60% is divided between how many other parties? 5? 6? And how many of that 60% would vote to leave the EU but for some reason feel they can't vote for FN?

You must be joking ! A united Europe ?

That only happened briefly, and was due to the cold war, and the danger from the Soviet block and expanding communism !

The EU or common market was never united ! So lets see :

1-Is there a common currency ? No ! only some have the Euro !

2- Is there a common foreign policy ? NO !

3- Is there a European army ? No !

4- is there a centralised common bureaucracy ? Yes !

The rise of the anti European sentiment is the result of the inability of Brussels to meet the challenges a growing "union" faces !

Each time a challenge came up the sat on their asses and swept it under the rug, and expanded adding another country !

Its not he immigration in its self that is a problem , but the fact that the French and other European nations are realising that these new comers are allowed to bring their culture ,and more serious , their religion with them !

This is fundamentally changing the face of many places , to the point that people dont feel at home , yet they are being told by some that this is a good thing , and multi culturalism is a good thing !

Now ...it can be , but it has to be a two way street !

How can one accept islam, a culture or religion that by its own nature discriminates ?

The problem is Europe doesn't learn ! I had hoped that Brexit would have been a wake up call , but no , like the Ostrich, the head is still buried in the sand , so maybe a Marine win would finally change that !

But I doubt they will let her win !

Lots of reasons caused the 2 world wars, and they weren't just in Europe hence the title 2 world wars

Japan isn't in Europe but was most definitely part of WW2

Most of turkey is in Asia but was a major part of WW1

Neither country is part of the EU, so how do you explain them bits away

Italy was a principality during WW1

Spain was ravaged by internal civil war pre WW2 or was that due to a lack of being an EU

Well 1 of them is simple to solve, fuck them off back to the country from which they originate from

Tail drop them on a pallet from the back of a

It would make good skill training for the aircrew and load master

Just because st some point in time France colonised many countries, doesn't mean that they want the same in France. also at some point in time Europe was divided almost every country for itself ...it resulted in 2 world wars ...now people like you want a divided Europe once again..how do you think that will end ?

I really hope she wins, it's just the kind of wake up call that is needed

We managed to kick them back to north Africa in 1189 , almost 3 centuries before the Spanish !

And for those who like history the British helped !

At The time a fleet of English and German Crusaders stopped in Lisbon for a drink!

We told them there was a place called Algarve we intended to take ! As they were bored from being stuck on the "Cruise ships" they were eager to exercise !

Also they realised this would make a great sunny holiday destination 8 centuries later!

Now those Bastards want it back to rebuild The Caliphate !

So going by that 60% of 18-24 year olds in France don't support Le Penn giving a good majority then like the poll here you mentioned for 18-24 year olds voting remain.

True but that 60% is divided between how many other parties? 5? 6? And how many of that 60% would vote to leave the EU but for some reason feel they can't vote for FN?"

Exactly so it proves you can't use the comparison you used then.

Basically you can't compare the voting structure of a 2 way vote against a structure of 7 or 8 way vote.

"Basically you can't compare the voting structure of a 2 way vote against a structure of 7 or 8 way vote."

Maybe, but that would mean that more than the 40% would want to leave the EU then. By the way, Luc Melanchon, leader of the far left has also promised a referendum on the EU and the Euro and he's polling at 19% since he came out with this

Can you explain how Putin helped Trump and Brexit? No.

Maybe blame the incompetence of the people you support first.

What if the the left support the right, after all a lot of their policies are the same and the centre right Fillon supporters also support the right? It's EU goodnight. But the most dangerous thing would be for Macron to win. There will be strikes and riots.

What a wonderful mess the EU have created

It's worrying that there are so many people here who are hoping for a Le Pen victory.

You realise that the Front Nationale is a fascist party named after the old National Front party of thugs and racists in this country that we managed to rid our streets of? The precursors of the BNP and EDL.

Are the Le Pen supporters here actually fascists or just naive???

It doesn't really matter what anyone here thinks about them but what do you think of a country and main founding member of the EU country for that matter, whose most popular politician is the leader of the FN?

Well we will have to see whether Le Pen is the most popular leader come the election results, and I doubt that a fascist will actually win the election there, but worrying that she can get such a large turnout.

What I would say is that it's a failed policy by the mainstream parties to call out the FN over the decades for their racism and fascism but instead to play the same populist card. We were very clear in this country when the NF and the BNP were in the ascendancy what they were in reality, called them on it and marched to oppose them. That's why it is so important that we continue to oppose such fascists as the EDL, and oppose fascists in other elections, whether they be the FN in France, Jobbik in Hungary or Wilders in Holland.

But your collected posts clearly do put you in to at least some of those categories.

Le Pen and the FN are clearly fascists. They come from that.far right tradition and espouse the same goals, albeit with slightly couched language this last few years.

In what specific way have you been "instructed to change and adapt to new ways to accommodate incomes"? I would guess that the answer is in no way.

"It's worrying that there are so many people here who are hoping for a Le Pen victory.

You realise that the Front Nationale is a fascist party named after the old National Front party of thugs and racists in this country that we managed to rid our streets of? The precursors of the BNP and EDL.

Are the Le Pen supporters here actually fascists or just naive???

Typical response call anybody who is pissed off with rampant islamification of the west. With whole regions changing beyounf comprehension. With an existing populace being instructed to change and adapt to new ways to accommodate incomierz from other nations fascist and racist. Wanting the best for your nation does not make you a racist fascist xenophob

But you are generalising with many of those statements. Let's look at them:

Inner city mess is endemic in many areas, not just those with higher levels of people of certain origins. And what do you mean by Islamification? Do you mean the conscious policy of governments over the years to create divided communities by creating ghettos to an extent? Take a look at predominantly white inner cities and you will see very similar pictures. It's not a race thing.

Many city centres have non alcohol zones. Manchester City Cente does but you wouldn't say it's due to Chrisianification would you?

I have no idea why a turkey sausage would upset you. I take it from your animal welfare concern regarding Halal that you are a vegan?

How can you qualify your statement that 'many' Muslims see non Muslims as inferior? What is your source? There will be a minority, just as there would in Christianity or any other religion; but if you compare the religious texts of the major religions, Islam is the most peaceful and most accepting of other religions.

"What I find interesting is that a majority of the young in the UK voted to remain in the EU (allegedly) and we are told it's because they are less racist more open and outward looking blah blah blah, yet the biggest group supporting Le Penn and FN and their anti EU stance in France are the young. Some 40% of 18-24 year olds support FN. Why is this? Could it be that the youth of France see a bigger picture or are they wrong?"
No they are right, and probably better educated than our youth

"Le Pen might just squeak the first round and then she will be battered in the second.

Putin has done well so far though (Trump, Brexit) so you never know.

I think you might be a little bit mental.

Let's ignore the Putin/Brexit links, which the money trails and hacking are only just starting to be uncovered, but Trump-Putin, come on, the links and connections being uncovered are growing hourly.

Then you can tell us what they are and how they influenced the results. Fire away..."

It will be a while before the court transcripts come out.

Hey, in the meantime maybe you can tell us what is on trumps tax returns?

You are a 2nd class person because you are not a muslim ....and worse! you rank even lower if you are a non muslim woman !

Where is this written ?

The kuran !

Islam is a religion of conquest by its very nature !

Of the main /major religions , Christianism is the only religion of peace !

Christianism - forgive , turn the other cheek !

Judaism - An eye for an eye !

islam- convert , or pay, subject, become a dhimmi , or loose your head !

Wake up !

Many other countries do this. Especially Catholic countries. The UK moved away from it for mass slaughter of cattle. Battery chickens probably British. Feeding meat to cows causing mad cow disease. I think the UK has a bad record of animal welfare.

"Well we will have to see whether Le Pen is the most popular leader come the election results, and I doubt that a fascist will actually win the election there, but worrying that she can get such a large turnout.

So whatever happens she has already won. And there is a fine line between opposing fascists and becoming one

That doesn't make any sense! How so?"

Why not? If mainstream parties are playing the same 'populist' card then she has already won. The same for Wilders in Holland. The word populism is being bandied around at the moment as an insult and as if there is something wrong with it when in fact all political parties are born out of populism. And how far do you go to oppose them? Lock them up? Fire bomb their campaign headquarters? Which is what happened to the FN offices overnight. What kind of people would do that? Fascists? The problem is the word fascist is used lazily and incorrectly and could just as easily be applied to supporters of the left as to the right

Bloody hell if you think Islam is a religion of peace try taking a holiday in Afghan, take your own orange boiler suite with you.

It's bloody medieval, and I'm most definitely a meat eater, but skirting the throat of an animal and hanging it to bleed is barbaric. We use to insist on stunning in slaughter houses

Many other countries do this. Especially Catholic countries. The UK moved away from it for mass slaughter of cattle. Battery chickens probably British. Feeding meat to cows causing mad cow disease. I think the UK has a bad record of animal welfare."

Personally I only eat free range eggs, my beef and lamb is from the local butcher who can tell you the number and farm where the meat was reared

So which country has a good animal welfare system

Truthfully I don't want to live in inner city shit holes like WS1 lord street Caldmore

I don't want the rubbish strewn streets that a prevalent in areas with high islamification

I don't like that halal is the most common form of slaughter

That brands such as subway only have turkey sausage

Areas like spark hill in brum have signs saying a this a alcohol free zone

How whites and non Muslim are classed as an inferior race by many Islamic followers

But you are generalising with many of those statements. Let's look at them:

Inner city mess is endemic in many areas, not just those with higher levels of people of certain origins. And what do you mean by Islamification? What the hell are you on ?

Its the opposite !

To them you are Kafir/kufar depending on how you say it !

Wake up ! "

Arhhhh Islam the religion of peace tolerance and respect, where a woman is a mans property. Where segregation is the norm,

where if your a woman you need to cover up as you might corrupt a male,

where women are stoned to death for adultery as they are corrupter

Now this is a good 1 Where Saudi has has just headed up the human rights at the UN

Where you are beaten for kissing in public if you are not married

Yeah a very tolerant and accepting religion, it's the worst of and most medieval of all of the sky God religions

"It's always been (incorrectly) portrayed that if you are left of centre, then you are a "liberal", and if right of centre as a "fascist""

It's quite a good "idiot identifier", in my experience.

I'm pretty left of centre ( ) and I'm far from liberal...

I certainly don't think that all on the right are fascists, however I certainly think that the FN are, and also UKIP have very strong parallels with classical Fascism.

From what I gather, the consensus is that La Penne will do well in the first round but will get knocked out in the second, however, given that all predictions concerning brexit and Trump were way off, it really is difficult to call.

this current trend by the alt-reich of attempting to hi-jack the meaning of words to use against anyone who isn't a rightwinger is pathetic ... just accept if you're choose to be on the far reaches of the right with your political thoughts then you are correctly going to be labelled with the names of fascist, falangist, estado novoist etc .... deal with it

History is a great interest of mine , so I know it well and its origin

But not doing your work for you !

There is something called Google ! it might help !

But feeling generous ....so here is one definition;

Fascism

1.

(sometimes initial capital letter) a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism.

2.

(sometimes initial capital letter) the philosophy, principles, or methods of fascism.

3.

(initial capital letter) a political movement that employs the principles and methods of fascism, especially the one established by Mussolini in Italy 1922–43

There is more to it.... but if.... you want to learn more...do it yourself

But feeling generous ....so here is one definition;

Fascism

I can use Google and Wikipedia, Tony.

You haven't mentioned fish once, I'm disappointed.

2/10

Must try harder.

I don't need tu use either !

First time I heard the term was back in the eighties in hight school, while studying the Roman Empire , and later WW2 !

Back then we actually learned stuff at school !

I also went to school, surprisingly. Also learned stuff, although I'm not sure what your point is.

The last time I covered it was either as a postscript to the Italian Unification, or "European History, 1905-52" modules of my A-Level.

Of course, that was twenty odd years ago and have since read those papery things...books, I believe you call them....

You would also note, if you had read my post, that I referred to "classical Fascism", ie (for the hard of thinking), that fishy kind that Musso and Franco were fond of.

"Classical fascism" !

mmmm.... how would you classify Ceasescu, of Romenia , Stalin , Pol Pot , Mao,Idi Amin ! Fidel Castro , Robert Mugabe, Muammar Quadaffi , and .... lets not forget the man of the hour , the dear leader Kim Jong-un ! Just to name a few ..... "

I think the more interesting question is probably how you would classify them, as you appear to be incinuating that you consider them Fascists.....

A totalitarian leader does not a fascist make.

Macron is likened to Blair so 100 per cent behind the EU and unregulated mass open door immigration. Let's hope Le Pen gets in as clearly she is the only one prepared to stem the tide of murderous islamofascism spreading across France and the rest of western Europe.

Whats the difference between islamofacism and altright fascism? Both are the worst and lowest of their homelands. Both are racist, violent and destructive. Both are populated by psychopaths and idiots. Theyre two sides of the same coin.

And Le Pens gonna need a massive upset to win.

Are you honesty trying to shoehorn all totalitarian regimes into the first paragraph of a wiki definition of Fascism? I think that the writer intended to set out general terms, but I think they are fundamentally flawed in that Fascist regimes don't necessarily bring commerce into the hands of the state. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that state ownership of the means of production is not an aspiration of fascism.

The word fascist just means bundle or union of things, so in politics it just means a collection of groups working together with the same ideas. As I said, it's just lazily applied to the right as a way to distinguish between right and left. It could equally be applied to the left

Interesting way to half understand something....

And no, it's not lazily applied to the right, it's a right wing ideology. It could not be applied to the left - there are various other vanguardist/totalitarian ideologies on the left, which have their own terminologies.

If Mussolini had held 'left wing' ideologies he would still have called it the fascist party, the word was nothing to do with right or left.

So what is the difference between a right wing dictator and left wing dictator?

The obvious difference is in the murder rate. Muslims are world champions in murder, savagery and now concentration camps.

Just yesterday ANOTHER muslim fascist racist cunt stabbed a twenty year old British female student with a kitchen knife several times in the heart on a tram in Jerusalem. (He wouldn't have done it if she had had a bag on her head.) This only a week after an American female tourist taking photos of graffiti was butchered by another fascist muslim cunt in Paris...just several days after another fascist racist muslim cunt threw a Jewish woman out of a 4th floor apartment in Paris...which was about the same time the Uzbek cunt was mowing down men, women and children and their pets with a truck in Stockholm. Which was only a week after another fascist muslim cunt killed five people in Westminster...

What's the view like from your deep sandpit mate?

Nope I don't have a Muslim Dr

And when I stood at my friends grave side helping wto fill it in whilst singing with the rest of his friends and family, I definitely recalled him as being what in today's language would be mixed race, Black Jamaican father white British mother.

Another of my closest friends is most definitely brown skinned in the same way that I am white skinned. And he ain't ever had a problem with what our skin colours are but would most definitely agree we ain't the same colour

A few of my friends are Cypriots with olive skin, they would describe me as white and my black brown skinned mates as such

And you problem with this is?....

But he didn't though did he, so it's moot.

So; regardless, the term came into being in Italy to describe the movement that he became leader of and subsequently his regime, and has since been applied to similar movements.

I tend not to bother with google, or wiki, I do however have some of those papery things that we talked about earlier.

And the fact that you can't tell me about the origin of the term, even though I've hinted at CandMs answer being a misunderstanding tells me that you have literally no clue.

I did drop a massive hint with the "fish" refernce, but you clearly missed that.

As an aside; The term "totalitarian" was coined do describe Italy under Fascism, although there was far less control than in the USSR (for example) post 1924.

Fasci Italiani di Combattimento !

From its traditional rooting in the greatness of the Roman empire Even adopting the symbol (Fasci), to its political and social roots in socialism !

Their all outdated. Left and right views are not universal either. Are we confusing fascism with authoritarian, which any government can enforce.

Liberal in the Netherlands is centre or centre right or left. Their belief is all groups included. Wilders was the opposite. He had socialist views (better pay/work for poor) but only for Dutch (nationalism).

I once said the left right divide is a lie. If it is so ingrained into society why do people switch from a left to right parties.

Interesting way to half understand something....

and yet completely wrong

Well maybe you can educate us?

.

.

This should be funny

I am waiting too !

Love to learn new stuff !

Educate yourself, I'm not going to Google things on your behalf.

Of course not ! You are too busy Googling thinks last minute on your own behalf to support you own misconceived and factually deficient posts !

Wow Jimi you are outdoing yourself !

The first time I learned in school about Fascism you would be about 2 or 3 years old !

Fasci Italiani di Combattimento !

From its traditional rooting in the greatness of the Roman empire Even adopting the symbol (Fasci), to its political and social roots in socialism !

"I tend not to bother with google, or wiki, I do however have some of those papery things that we talked about earlier."

mmm... yes ...well when I went to school , all there was were those paper things you mention !

You were the one who grew up in the internet age , with Google and Wiki !

But hey, its a great thing you read and enjoy books !"

Ok then, if you are aware of the origin of the term, and the political systems it came to define, why do you insist on trying to shoehorn that model into the fist part (neglecting the whole thing) of some general wiki definition?

It's almost like you know what you are writing is total bollocks, but you write it anyway because it seems to suit your political agenda....

Also, you are still only part right about the meaning of the term.... CandM had the other part...maybe you can join the dots....

Look Jimmi , There is no political agenda !

I am on the right of the political spectrum , you seem to be on the left !

Problem is when you look a both extreme left and right , they end up with very similar characteristics which always result in a bad outcome for those they proclaim to defend !

Actually IAmesterdam sort of hit the nail on the head with is post :

"Their all outdated. Left and right views are not universal either. Are we confusing fascism with authoritarian, which any government can enforce.

While I wouldn't quite put it like that , the fact is these days the lines are blurred in terms of accurately labelling a political party or movement !

Those "pure" forms of Fascism or communism are long gone ! All that remains are the words !

The terms have actually become a form of offending or provoking the other side by using a blanket term like us on the right calling you commies ....and you on the left calling us Fascists !

The reality today is much more complex , and authors even as far back as the 50ties were questioning the "purity" of the political movements , having realised that the methods used to attain and keep power were very similar on both extremes !

Today its even worse, hence my notion that one has to be more open defining regimes ! That said , I find that some leftist regimes have characteristics that could be fascist in practice , and some right wing dictators had some collectivist practices normally attributed to socialism or communism !

The socialist left Utopia is still a very powerful force(unfortunately), and some still fall for it , Venezuela being the most recent example of a socialist inspired utopia ! The deceased Chavez had some traits that were clearly fascist !

I suppose its a learning curve , the bottom line being left , right , a dictator is a dictator !

And the people always end up suffering!

Wow. I am finding myself agreeing with you there. Also I realised my spelling and grammar was appalling .

What you're saying is the political compass is not the same as people are mixing ideologies and using techniques from other political parties. So what is the difference between left and right?"

That my friend .... is sometimes very tricky to define, specially when you factor in cultural differences !

A good example is this forum !

Look at all the label and name calling going on sometimes !

And lets not forget the almost fanatical defence of some politicians or public figures that embody ... or seem to embody a certain ideology !

Also , in my view, the defence of the welfare state by most parties , has blurred things even more to the point that only the extremes stand out !

Problem is ... the welfare state in its current state is unsustainable !

So all try to go back to old ideological standards from the past , forgetting that its not the same reality on all levels.

Here is how I define the difference from the concept of left and right ?

The left - The function of government is to be in charge and solve the peoples problems !

The right- The function of government is to create conditions that allow people to solve their own problems by themselves !

a bit like the saying " Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime."

Oh .. and yes... people are mixing techniques across the political spectrum , but I would say its mostly the right copying the lefts traditionally very effective propaganda and communication formats and technique , and the left adopting forms of government that would not be traditionally associated with the right !

look at Greece !.... they have a far left government that has actually applied more severe austerity measures then the previous one they beat and replaced, that was more centre right !

The irony is that this Austerity becomes more "palatable" because its applied by a leftist government !

Same shit is happening in Portugal too !

Hope this answers your question !

"It's always been (incorrectly) portrayed that if you are left of centre, then you are a "liberal", and if right of centre as a "fascist"

It's quite a good "idiot identifier", in my experience.

I'm pretty left of centre ( ) and I'm far from liberal...

I certainly don't think that all on the right are fascists, however I certainly think that the FN are, and also UKIP have very strong parallels with classical Fascism.

There are more fascists on the left than the right, the left really believe that they have the moral high ground"

I think you might need to study the origins of the term fascism. You can argue that there are authoritarians on the left and right, which could possibly be true. You can't argue that fascism is a left wing thing. It's a hard right ideology based around freedom of capital within an organised right wing state, comes from the term fascio in Italian.

Fascism is a right wing ideology and should be stamped out.

You can't argue that fascism is a left wing thing. It's a hard right ideology based around freedom of capital within an organised right wing state, comes from the term fascio in Italian.

Fascism is a right wing ideology and should be stamped out.

Isn't that being a bit... 'fascist'?

Only if you have either not read or failed to understand the first paragraph. "

Whatever. Lets just stamp out all political thought eh

Polls had it right in the end. Looks like Macrons going to be the new president. Its a shocking rise to power considering how recently he started his own movement. To ascend as quickly as he has without the support of a national party is remarkable.

"Early exit predictions show Marine and Macron likely to be in the last two."

Exit polls were right then. Results are in....

Macron 23%

Marine Le Pen 21%

Fillon 19%

It will be Macron vs Marine in the final round on May 7th.

Macron: double cuffed shirts, tailor-made suits, 'former Socialist', loves the EU, has a 'Project', seeks the 'Middle Way' and yesterday said the French equivalent of: "A new dawn has broken". Remind you of any one?

Will he get Melenchon's voters on side though for the final round?

They are very unlikely to vote for Marine, or will they just not bother.

The final round is always "the candidate you hate least" round.

Looking at 2012 only 20,000 didn't vote the second round. Also the French are a good representation of democracy with an 80% turnout.

So would the far left swing to far right? Would those in the centre right go for a centre party? Around 60 percent also voted for pro EU parties. Will that affect the results.

Very interesting and a blow for the anti EU parties. But never say never...

But hey, its a great thing you read and enjoy books !

Liberal in the Netherlands is centre or centre right or left. Their belief is all groups included. Wilders was the opposite. He had socialist views (better pay/work for poor) but only for Dutch (nationalism).

I once said the left right divide is a lie. If it is so ingrained into society why do people switch from a left to right parties."

So what is the difference between left and right?

"

Nice way to put it with your analogy. But how far down the spectrum is it to make people pay to learn how to fish or only teach the elite to fish? Or on the other side making people give their fish equally?

I think it's more complex.

Yes.... it has gotten more complex , but the truth is what you describe in the fish analogy happens normally in leftist/communist /socialist based regimes Not right wing ones !

In reality , and as you say, making people pay to learn how to fish is a more common tradition in Europe , then say in the US !

It exposes the difference between liberty and freedom ! And the Europe has never had much of either .....and its only getting worse !

Macron is now distancing himself from the EU. Plenty of people in France are against the EU, so this could be a shrewd move by him.

yep.... last week it was 26..... this week it is 22......

the biggest thing is going to be what voters on the left do.... if they turn out macron wins (lesser of two evils)

if they stay home.... then there will be issues.....

interesting to see that the person who came 6th in the presidential vote who was anti le pen... is now supporting here now he is her choice for prime minister

also interesting to see Le Pen Snr out talking today... he is the last thing she needs as it reminds the voters of how toxic the original Le Pen Brand is....

Macron, should have an I instead of an A in his name as that probably is about the size of anyone's brain that votes for that stuffed shirt. He is all for continuing the status Quo and if he wins the Pro EU people will rub their hands and say. Great........ We've hoodwinked the french for another 5 years. Hurrahhhhhh. Breath again. A great victory for an electoral system that is even more flawed that our one. Imagine if we had a system in our constituencies where they had a vote and then the 2 candidates who came tops had a run off.

It's a joke.

Looks like Macron has crushed Le Pen with at least 63% of the vote. Even with Le Pen turning her back on her party and there being a lower turnout she still lost heavily.
