Nah. Wars are fought asymmetrically these days as opposed to large scale continental conflict.

The world's never stopped being at war. Unfortunately modern methods are rather indiscriminate when it comes to brutal regimes. The super powers are rather more clinical.

War makes money.

What would likely things be like in a case of ww3?

I doubt it would be a situation where we would blacking out windows and heading to bomb shelters,

How would it actually be?

Would people be called up

into the forces?

I have heard from many sources we are at the brink of this, and it does scare me

I still don't understand why in 2017 with the technology and access to global communication we now have, why any nations would want to go to war other than for money.

Surely in this day and age we can use sport ie boxing to sort out diplomatic matters or even a game of chess between the heads of conflicting nations, nice and easy and no one needs to die.

What's the point in having NATO and what not if they can't find other alternatives to war fs?

The least worst case would be them playing out their cock measuring contests through proxies (i.e. in Syria etc.).

However, escalation will always be a danger.

Plus you have the wild cards like N. Korea. Trump may find that rushing in there with a few big boats may not actually calm things!

Actually he hasn't, most of his "p_edictions" are actually retrospective p_edictions by people fitting true events to his writings. His writings are so vague you could ascribe virtually any event to them. If memory serves the one supposedly about the rise of Hitler was Nostradamus talking about a river or lake, hilter or something like that I think the reference is.

This is just another example of people wanting to believe things even in the face of reality and fact.

Total war is unlikely to happen again.

The state armed and trained all men of fighting age in WW1 and 2, and this led to the rather interesting situation whereupon the combination of a lack of labour and a millitarised population meant that the stste fea_ed its citizens and had to concede to the will of the peope on numerous occasions - victories which is has since struggled to erode, and by and large has succeeded.

Here is a thought or two...

The world needs an Armageddon type event to _educe the world population from it's 7.5 billion to a maximum of 3 or 4 billion (maybe less) in order to halt global climate change and stop the planet running out of raw materials. The only viable way of _educing the population by that amount without making the planet uninhabitable is to use air burst nuclear weapons (preferably of the neutron type). The EMP from such detonations will take out most if not all electrical grids. In a post apocalyptic there will be an urgent need to generate the power requi_ed to pump oil and gas from the fields to where it is needed. The easiest fuel to use to generate this power is coal. And as most coal fi_ed power stations have been shut down they will be saved from the damage done by the EMP. Maybe there is method in Trump's coal madness...

Could it be that Trump is one of the front men for a global reset?

"Booody hell thats an amazing theory..."

Just the musings of an idle moment...

But if we look at Trumps character and record as well as those of his known backers there are certain things they share in common.

They are ruthless, they are amoral when it comes to using and exploiting others and they place little value on the lives of those they consider inferior and of no value to them.

Add this to Trumps known and suspected record so far and things start to look very Orwellian in nature. If I am correct or even partially correct, the question is which of the two playbooks is being run? Animal Farm or 1984?

NATO is primarily a military alliance...on one side of the current divide. I think you may be thinking of the UN? But that's a total waste of time as anything discussed is automatically vetoed by one side or the other.

There was a proposal to get UN observers to verify that Syria had used chemical weapons in Idlib. However Russia indicated they would veto such a motion. Hence USA made assumptions they had something to hide...hence the cruise missiles.

We have all been told WW3 will involve nuclear weapons..

The size of the charge that hit hiroshima was 1kg. Today we are talking megatons... If one of those gets launched its not a city being removed its a country.

Each country has listening posts for one being launched and response teams assigned to their missles... It would be over before it started and those in power do not want a world where even they cant live in or would never make it to a bunker in time.

It is about money and power...

If those in charge actually focused on one thing.....making the human race better rather than their wallets fatter it would be a better place

That is not strictly correct. A large enough single detonation high enough in the atmosphere will disable all but the most hardened of electrical and electronic devices and drain batteries. But the scale of the blast is inversely proportional to the distance from detonation. Only ground, surface and subsurface bursts cause secondary radiation (fallout). An air burst would just take out the target under it and in the blast radius and leave a hot spot directly under the detonation point (ground zero). Of course if Neutron bombs (also called enhanced radiation devices) were used then there would be virtually no damage to non living tissue and the blast area could be safely ente_ed in as little as 20 minutes.

Ain't science a beautiful thing...

I can foresee a problem?.

Theres 450 nuclear power stations in the world, 420 of which are in the northern hemisphere, they require a permanent electrical supply to maintain going critical, take the one next door to me for instance, the core would melt through the ground hit the water table and explode, it would remain like that for a thousand years until the core cools down, or until you incase it in concrete like Chernobyl.

The by products of Fukushima are in your milk your drinking today?

That was what-part melt downs on 2 reactors out of 6?.

I would be sceptical of the virus/bug scenario. There were tests done on Anthrax Island in WW2 and it took till 2000 to clean it up and make it safe. Viruses and bacteria evolve and mutate so even though it is possible to formulate a weapon that will only attack certain population groups or those not given immunity the danger of an unexpected mutation rendering any vaccine useless is too high.

High atmosphere air burst nuclear weapons are the most controllable way of massively _educing the population without risk to 'the great trees of the forest' (from Thatcher's protect and survive speech in about 84).

Yes ive read a bit about viral mutation and thats been the worry for them, of course theyve been testing out the scenario for a good 30 years now!.

Genetically modified viruses seem to have best results for large scale killing, Ebola is too quick, hiv is to slow, measles is wonderfully infectious but not deadly enough, bird flu is great but not containable and inter- species viruses always are problematic!.

Do you know the new experimental vaccine for Ebola uses i think genetically modified rabies, blood coming from the eyes while foaming at the mouth and passed on by a bite!!

"I can foresee a problem?.

"

Nope, they don't work like that. If the power to the pumps fail then they still stay sub-critical through natural convection.

Part of the reason nuclear power stations are built beside large bodies of water is so that if the power fails the water gates open and the hot water is vented directly out of the power station and is replaced with cold water from (in your case) the Irish Sea.

The 2 cases you quote were not caused by pump failures. In the case of Chernobyl the directing staff had to physically isolate No4 reactor and drain its outer water jacket to start the fire that led to the explosion. It is well documented and a very interesting (and disturbing) read, I highly recommend it.

Fukushima is more complicated, but the main source of contamination is from the high level wast cooling pools that were on the 5th floor of the reactor building. Of course there was also a massive radiation release when the reactor vessel cracked, but this was the direct result of the earthquake and had nothing to do with loss of power.

Besides the idea is you want to create a year long atmosphere of fear, something that will bring the rest of the population left in line and give total c_edulity and servitude to the authoritarian leadership that will "save you".

Nuclear weapons are good but they just dont create the fear like watching your neighbours being dragged out of their houses and shot in Street because there infected, its brilliant because not only does it create perfect fear but also youll ACTUALLY agree with the policy, it gets you on side and thats just genius

" but this was the direct result of the earthquake and had nothing to do with loss of power. "
.

I worked there for five years, its 60 feet higher than the sea and requires alot more water than natural convection can supply, theres also the point that emp would fry all the circuitry in the power station meaning you couldnt raise the control rods for months.

Thats interesting about Chernobyl though, ill have a read and get back to you on it.

Put the Apocalypse on hold

"I think I'm turning to the virus idea....I know another conspiracy theory nut youth thinking!

But as said those who have been inoculated will inherit a less populated planet....and as for us plebs...well you just know our fate

High atmosphere air burst nuclear weapons are the most controllable way of massively _educing the population without risk to 'the great trees of the forest' (from Thatcher's protect and survive speech in about 84)..

"You've been watching too much walking dead"

Unfortunately what has been said is not that far from the truth...

The US military carried out mass biological experiments on their black population both military and civilian in the 40's and 50's. I remember the White House coming clean about it during either Clinton's or Carter's administration. We did similar at CDE Porton Down under the guise of trying to find a cure for the Common Cold. I am pretty sure every other major power in the world did similar. I do remember reading an article about how geneticists have also experimented with developing weapons that specific genetic markers so that individuals or groups sharing a piece of code could be targeted in the general population.

Science is not all about blue sky thinking to make life better for humanity.

The CIA since its very conception has always been about control, hell they even control the very president they work for including right wing ones like Nixon, theyve openly admitted to everything from flying civilian planes into buildings and blaming it on the Cubans, psycops like trying to see the future and events happening 1000s of miles away, holographic projectors for psychologically?disturbing troops, microwave guns to give dissenters cancer, heart attack drugs.. You name it and every dirty filthy trick theyve done and more and all in the name of what? Freedom, capitalism, democracy, what a crock of shit lol.

Blow up your own battleships, shoot down your own aircraft, kill your own elected officials, control all media, spy on everybody, tap all phones, record all mobile conversations, collect every email... And you know who you should fear?

Thats right Vladimir Putin

The world's never stopped being at war. Unfortunately modern methods are rather indiscriminate when it comes to brutal regimes. The super powers are rather more clinical.

War makes money.

Have I just dug this shell scrape for nothing then?"

Sure but then after Watergate they were forbidden from operating inside the USA as well! How did that go?.

And then Youve got the NSA and the appropriately? named SS for internal surveillance for anybody whos ever wrote kxxx trump, on here, newsflash your on the NSA register!

What was Eisenhowers parting speech as president, the one thing he was convinced paid more of a threat than communism or nuclear wars or pandemics, so bad he felt compelled to give the gravest of warnings while leaving?

Money, power and war which he called the military industrial complex.

And he was a right wing republican?ex military commander!

What did we do about his warning, jack shit, in fact we did the complete opposite and gave them even more money power and freedom, great idea

Hes the opposite side of the same coin, who do you think hes telling the Russians to be afraid of?

Trump needs Putin as much as Putin needs trump, its an exercise of control through fear, Isis leaders tell there people the same thing, Isis fighters are afraid, there in fear of the non believers with their whacky science that denies everything theyve ever held dear.

Fear is the number one emotion in all humans and should never be underestimated

Its a very interesting 15 minutes, particular when viewed from a historic perspective.

A great danger my fellow citizens is atheistic? in nature(oh how times change) and looks like it may go on indefinitely (oh how times dont).

To counter this fear we must build the largest and most powerful military in the world but..

Thats because hes not really a politican but a civil servant , do you remember yes minister?.

Humphrey Appleton was the civil servant brains and Jim hacker was the politican idiot.

What we have in Putin is a ruthless Humphrey whos shot hacker for being a traitorous imbecile sell out to the West and snatched power for himself!.

What we actually have is two ruthless competing conglomerates of Russia and the USA fighting for market share! Like android and Apple.

But in the background are the two old established lurkers of Europe and China, like Microsoft and IBM.

Trump is like Tim cook a rookie idiot who's blowing the family silver on one last chance.

Putin is like sergy brin, clever and got his fingers in every pie.

Gini rommerty and bill gates are sitting back and waiting for those two to knock each other out

Don't worry everything I say is in the public domain...

Admittedly much of it is not advertised (I wonder why ). But I for one thank you for allowing me the opportunity to pepper posts with references to chemical warfare (here goes another little flag) bio weapons (and another) genetic weapons and nuclear and enhanced radiation devices. Of course explaining the way different blasts work must make some eyes

.

But I am a really (even if my halo is a little tarnished).

I wonder how large my physical file is now...

I used to take great pleasure in acting suspiciously round police to get them to do a stop and search...

It used to be funny watching their whole body language change as them made their PNC check and got an immediate "are you secure?" response. This of course was followed by the one officer sliding off to have a whispe_ed conversation while the other desperately tried to play things down and I made loud comments about how rude it is to whisper about people in front of them. What made it even funnier was watching the police attitude change and the level of politeness sky rocket as the first officer returned very quickly to tell me that they were sorry to have disturbed me and to have a nice day... That game lost it's sparkle when police were issued with earwigs and PDA's, no fun when you cant watch them squirm as they think they have just stopped a _ed flagged major criminal or intelligence interest.

Surely in this day and age we can use sport ie boxing to sort out diplomatic matters or even a game of chess between the heads of conflicting nations, nice and easy and no one needs to die.

What's the point in having NATO and what not if they can't find other alternatives to war fs?

"We have all been told WW3 will involve nuclear weapons..

If those in charge actually focused on one thing.....making the human race better rather than their wallets fatter it would be a better place"

The Hiroshima bomb actually had 64kg of fissionable material in it, however they estimate only 1kg actually reacted.

"Booody hell thats an amazing theory...

Animal Farm or 1984?"

Both books !

But Will... be honest, the Orwellian move started long before Trump showed un up on the scene !

Way back....

I watched a fool American dig a hole in the middle of nowhere put in a gun food etc in case shit happens.

He kinda took the huff when i said he's nuts.

As i don't understand him.

And there's so many fools doing the same.

They are more afraid of the government then war.

So i asked what happens if you go away on holiday overseas or just to another part of the USA.

He never got back to me.
