Sad .. Tragic...... and utterly stupid loss of life

But what does one expect when you have unharmed "police" patrolling the streets ?

This has to change !

Guns wouldnt stop someone who suddenly veers off the road into pedestrians.

Time to bring yourself up to date....

The Metropolitan Police has dozens of armed officers on duty 24/7 with more in reserve. Armed officers exist in every city and regional forces too.

Actually, it shows how poorly protected we really are. All news channels are making a huge issue of this, it was only one guy

one guy with a car & knife!!!!!

Imaging if it was a well planned attack with a number of terrorists, even only 10, armed with guns and driving lorries instead of a 4x4.

We don't even know if it was a terrorist, or infact if it was someone with mental health issues or what they call a "lone wolf" terrorist

The news channels are making out this was a major attack, bollocks, it was only a small incident to what could have happened

Well the metropolitan police were asked in January did they want guns and they didnt. In fact theyre not getting enough police signed up to be trained to fill the numbers they were aiming to have armed.

The definition and term "Armed" police is offensive and an aberration to me !

In all civilised Democracies Police are all armed !

Only 3rd world dictatorships , or dodgy democratic systems have unharmed police

not quite.....

if you know the houses of parliament... the officers in and around that place are routinely armed.. it is the one place that is... hence why the police were so quick to shoot the attacker...

Did you see the response..?

it was pretty effective as we would expect on such an area where there are several 'target's'..

the alternative's to what we have now with the restrictions needed would be a fillip for the terrorists..

Completely unfounded, my brother is in the met and is on scene now with rapid response, he trained up from being a standard pc and the training was extremely hard to get on to.

in a word bollocks, this is fuck all to do with political correctness..

its about what sort of a society we live in and what type of policing we and the officers who do that role on our behalf want..

no need unless your just being offensive to call into question their fitness to do the job because not all want to be armed..

NOT QUICK ENOUGH;

the attacker had time to approach with a blade

managed to find a gap in the body armour, attack and kill

.

then 3 shots were fired.

They are extremely lucky it was one guy, probably a poorly planned out lone wolf attack

imagine what a well thought out attack with a number of assailants armed with weapons could do

3 dead, (I don't include the attacker in that), plenty of innocent people injured, including tourists and London at a standstill. hardly minor stuff pal.

and forget all this "Lone wolf" and mental health crap. he got out of the car that caused the injuries where two others were in.

Ill assume you think they were three Broadmoor inmates having a "jolly boys outing"

Well the metropolitan police were asked in January did they want guns and they didnt. In fact theyre not getting enough police signed up to be trained to fill the numbers they were aiming to have armed.

Sad ! that proves they are unfit for the Job....

not quite.....

if you know the houses of parliament... the officers in and around that place are routinely armed.. it is the one place that is... hence why the police were so quick to shoot the attacker...

NOT QUICK ENOUGH;

the attacker had time to approach with a blade

managed to find a gap in the body armour, attack and kill

.

then 3 shots were fired.

They are extremely lucky it was one guy, probably a poorly planned out lone wolf attack

imagine what a well thought out attack with a number of assailants armed with weapons could do"

As I am sure you will have heard before, if an attacker with a knife is within 21 steps of someone armed with a gun they can get to them and strike before the person with a gun and draw aim and fire. Do you want to live in a society where you are not allowed within 22 steps of a police officer?

It only takes one sadistic person with a twisted view of their religion or beliefs to cause so much hurt

"Actually, it shows how poorly protected we really are. All news channels are making a huge issue of this, it was only one guy

one guy with a car & knife!!!!!

the Nice attack was 1 man with a truck.....

the Berlin attack was 1 man with a truck....

i think you forget what 1 nutjob can achieve.....

That is exactly my point; imagine if It was a well planned out job with a number of assassin's "

Thought the police in both Nice and Berlin are armed..?

you can have a 4 man SF team on a high alert status but not on every corner..

and he got slaughtered for it on twitter.... and donald trump jr said something not so similar...

lousie mensch has become my new weird hero today... taking on banks and trump jr over their london attack remarks..... and slaughtering nunes and trump snr on the wiretapping stuff

if the person is home grown... thats a big retraction they are going to have to make

"Police fficer stabbed and assailant shot by another officer.

Sad .. Tragic...... and utterly stupid loss of life

But what does one expect when you have unharmed "police" patrolling the streets ?

This has to change !

Guns wouldnt stop someone who suddenly veers off the road into pedestrians.

No.... but in some cases it does ! Remember Nice ?

Besides ...its always better to have a gun and not need to use it , then to need one and not have it !

Well the metropolitan police were asked in January did they want guns and they didnt. In fact theyre not getting enough police signed up to be trained to fill the numbers they were aiming to have armed.

Completely unfounded, my brother is in the met and is on scene now with rapid response, he trained up from being a standard pc and the training was extremely hard to get on to."

Its not completely unfounded at all. The police force themselves said that they werent getting enough people to do the training.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/01/09/british-police-officers-asked-want-carry-guns-wake-terror-attacks/

It wasnt even a criticism of the police or the difficulty of the training.

A report in a paper isnt always true.. i think I will take the word of the actual officers over that as there are loads on his gf's fb (also police) page commenting how they want to be armed and wish it was brought in or that they could qualify for the training.

I'm more than happy with the police service in matters like this. They are fit, well trained and quick to respond. I always feel safe in London, and that goes for all the emergency services.

Nobody cares about your anectdotal evidence. Anectdotal evidence is useless and means nothing. And it wasnt the paper saying it, it was the police union and the police chiefs themselves.

Or are you saying that the police chiefs and the unions are lying but nobody but our intrepid fabswinger has noticed? Quick, to your facebook page to post about it to the world and break the story too hot for the media to touch!! Forget about facts, no time for that, because you saw Bob on facebook post something once amd it must be true!!11!

Well when Bob is a serving Met officer and as are the other 50 currently discussing it then yeah I will believe the actual police members that supposedly didnt want guns, doesnt matter where they are talking its the fact they are the ones doing the fricking job and living this right now.
