Some advertising companies have also pulled their ads and funding from Alex Jones Info Wars site. There seems to be a concerted effort now to shut down free speech in certain targeted areas.

I can see why a book publisher may be freaked out by the outcry of someone who could be perceived to endorse grooming....

In the case of Alex jones... he is a certified nut job

You people have a very warped idea of what 'free speech' means.

His viewing figures on YouTube put the main stream media to shame. The main stream media are bricking it they can see audiences slipping away from them and people are turning to social media and the Internet for their news in ever increasing numbers.

So do you endorse milo's comments about older men and 13yr old boys being okay then?

Just curious......

Well yes, apart from that isn't actually happening at the moment, is it? Most of the news channels and newspapers are hitting record high numbers at the moment.

Alex Jones/info wars went very quickly from being what you might call a sceptic and scrutinising youtube reporter/discussion centre (some of the old stuff he produced as fairly good, especially on TTIP ect), to being nothing more than right wing infotainment - akin to buzzfeed, except right wing not left wing.

Either he's cashing in on youtube monetising by creating batshit insane content recently, or his recent melt downs about God, Demons, fluoride, and the 'establishment' which he apparently has the ear of, so he means the old establishment, are a sign of him going a little insane.

Maybe he can't handle the fact that if anything bad comes out of the white house now, he actually has to acknowledge that the anti-establishment is at fault and he can't process that non-moderate views can cause negative issues.

Online social media and reporting isn't all alt-right and far right. There are left wing, centrist, and 'classical liberal' youtube channels aplenty. Most of which criticise and ridicule mainstream press, media and actions of governments.

Now lets laugh at some funny Alex Jone's hypocrisy and meltdowns.

"Can't believe he's lost his book deal! Talk about the end of free speech! "

I believe Daniel Hanan, Brexit crusader, and free speech advocate, and a lover of US-UK relations, tweeted the other day:

"Just because you CAN say something doesn't mean you SHOULD. Free speech doesn't mean we forget all about good manners, accuracy or decency."

Milo should have been told that before being a little bit too sensationalist/attention whorish a few months ago.

Oh, and really, if he was sexually abused as a teenager - and he rationalises it as a coping mechanism by telling himself that he 'deserved it', it's best not to say something that sounds like you are applying that logic to wider society.

It does pretty much say 'well it happened to me, so paedophilia is okay.'

If that's freedom of speech, then the free press and free media have a right to disavow and distance themselves from him. Heck, even is core supporters in the non-ethnic cleansing side of the 'alt' right have en-mass thought that it was a comment too far. You know you go too far when the soft far right wont have you.

All those conservative snowflakes have found that "free speech" does have limits. Seems outrage, offense, and safe spaces aren't just the ownership of the left - its just a matter of what topics you choose to discuss. Triggered, indeed.

Nobodies shutting down free speech. Nobody is entitled to a book deal and nobody is entitled to sponsorship. Just because my posts here arent sponsored by the delicious beer created by those fine folks at Budweiser (available at all off licenses, pubs and wherever alcohol is sold, please drink responsibly) doesnt mean that my free speech is being shut down. It means that there isnt a business case to be made for sponsoring me.

Milo got a book deal because it looked like his book would make a lot of money. Now it looks like the book would make a lot less money so theyre not interested. Infowars looked like a good platform to get extra customers, now some companies have decided that its either not getting new customers or its putting off more customers than their getting.

Everyones still free to say what they want.

I have no sympathy for Mr Hanrahan. To quote Bill Maher on Milo, 'an emotionally needy Ann Coulter wannabe' who was insults, incites division purely for his own benefit. Quite a similar character to his 'Daddy'.

Yeah it was a hit job on him but it was a conservative group that was behind it. Free Speech? lol.

"He's brill on f book! "

Yeah he's great, until you realise he is gay and openly said he thinks it's wrong that he is gay, and if he could change it he would -so basically he thinks that being gay is immoral.

If you listen to more interviews, he thinks that western societies are superior because they are influenced and their citizens are influenced by judeo-christian values - rather than the rule of law, science, and justice.

So, basically his religiously conservative world view has impacted his moral compass about his sexuality.

Suddenly, being a victim of molestation by a Catholic priest, and him viewing it as fine, seems to have impacted him far more than being a victim of paedophilia.

Perhaps, he rationalises his molestation as fine, because he is gay, a Jew, and he was taken advantage of by a Catholic priest. Therefore he deserves it in his mind, it's a form of self-punishment.

In order for this to work he has constructed a world view, centred around Christian values being better, homosexuality being immoral, and the final view, that teenage men going with older men is okay, which was formed as he is fond of classical greek culture - therefore normalising it in his world view.

If this is right, he is just insulating and cultivating his trauma.

The only thing the guy is good for, is being a drama queen and being so aggressive in his opinions and attacks on others, that he gets a few people to think more critically. Whether that's worth the amount of people who respond aggressively and emotively on the left and right is a different story.
