The Labour party candidate for the upcoming by election in Stoke Central, Mr Gareth Snell, has posted a series of abusive tweets about women, it has been reported. He attacked panelists on the tv programme Loose women as "Squabbling, sour faced ladies", called Janet Street Porter a "polished turd who is shiny and shit", and branded X Factor judge Danni Minogue as "bitchy". He also hit out at a "speccy blonde girl" on The Apprentice and said she was "fucking annoying" and told her to "piss off". In an attack on overweight women he mocked a woman on his twitter feed for taking up 2 seats on public transport. He even attacked women from within the Labour party and called Diane Abbott "arseingly stupid".

Perhaps the worse one of all where he suggests women should be physically assaulted, he tweeted about the soap Coronation Street, "Never mind Tracy being in a coma, someone should give Deirdre a good slap".

Speaking up for women, UKIP's Suzanne Evans said, "clearly this man is not fit to be an MP". She added, "How he passed Labour's vetting procedure is beyond me - or didn't they bother?"

Margot Parker added "There is no place in Parliament for someone who thinks that hitting women is acceptable".

Do I believe this story?

No.

Why?

It is just too convenient for this story to surface just 10 days before the bye election. It is strait out of the Cambridge Analytica voter suppression playlist as used by brexit and introduced to Trump by our Nige.

"

Maybe damage limitation, maybe because he cant prove he did not say it. I don't know. I just find the whole stories timing strangely convenient for some. Are you not in the slightest suspicious?

nope. He couldn't deny it, some of it was still on his twitter feed.

I agree with him on Diane Abbot though, that was a fair point and won't harm him

So what he has said is SO bad, yet posters on here are agreeing with what he said

In today's digital age where everything is kept forever, if you trawl through anyone's social media you are going to find comments like this. Should calling someone "bitchy" mean you should be barred from public office?

The Diane Abbott comment could do him some harm amongst Labour voters.

You are correct all of this stuff was on his twitter feed so he was caught out red handed. Same as when he was caught on his twitter feed calling Brexit a 'pile of shit" it seems Gareth Snell can't string a sentence together without throwing in a foul mouthed expletive.

Oh...you haven't (I never once thought you would) and neither would any sensible, sane people. Certainly not anyone fit to stand for public office!

He actually lives there, in a house with furniture and has done for 13 years.

Before being a candidate he was working to make the local area better and if he loses the election he will continue to work to help the people of Stoke.

If Nuttall loses he will just fuck off.

thats not true, for a start we don't have furniture in Stoke, we've had to burn it all to keep warm, so Nuttall was just fitting in. And anyway, no Labour councillor has worked to make things better, they just make things worse

So he should know what policies are important to the locals.

'UKIP leader Paul Nuttall admits that claims on his website that he lost a "close personal friend" at Hillsborough are false'

He's a scumbag.

He also made up a PHD, lied about his residency in Stoke, pretends he's a working class man of the people yet stood as a fucking Tory in Liverpool, wants to kill off elephants and, above all lies that he doesn't want to privatise the NHS.

Why are you defending him?

He is claiming that he was at Hillsborough during the disaster, but that claim is denied by his school who had records of all the children who were, a friend of 25 years says he has never mentioned it, and the Hillsborough Families Support Group says he has never been in touch to offer support.

Snell seems like a bit of an idiot. Those of us who lean to the left shouldn't make excuses for him just because he's on

It's just a shame for Stoke that their candidates are seemingly pretty flawed.

At times I like Janet Street Porter, at times she gets on my wick. Sometimes I might have a vent about her.

I occasionally watch the Apprentice but rarely remember the names of the contestants, who often annoy me. I might have a vent about one of them sometimes.

I can't stand Loose Women. I have often ranted at some of the vacuous ill informed opinions spouted on that show when I've caught it.

I quite like Dannii Minogue. Like all talent shows though, the judges are often commenting negatively about people with far more talent than they have, or are nastier at the end of a long day than they really need to be. It is their role and the producers often design the presentation to be provocative to those at home. I have often fallen for that provocation and vented at this.

Diane Abbott, though often having her heart in the right place, is sometimes annoying, occasionally hypocritical and intellectually out of her depth against able politicians. I often vent about her not being up to the job.

I don't tend to vent at fat people, but I might, just might, have a whinge if I couldn't get a seat on a bus because someone was taking up two, or even worse, if an old lady couldn't.

Twitter is like goggle box for many.

UKIP and the Daily Mail have trawled through Snell's affairs with a fine toothcomb to try and find something to smear him with and this is the best they've managed? FFS!

For me, these pale into insignificance next to Nuttall, whose lies reveal someone who is unfit in character to represent the people of Stoke in Parliament. I have never pretended to have been at a disaster or someone close to me has died at one to either gain sympathy or to con people into believing I was something I am not in order to gain something from them. I have too much regard for the truth.

It is quite telling though that the Brexiters are trying to pretend there is an equivalence here.

It's similar to the equivalence they tried to claim for Osborne and Cameron's exaggerated and alarmist predictions as being equal to the flat out lies on three of the five central themes of the Leave campaigns and even greater exaggerations in the other two.

He said he didn't lose any close personal friends in the disaster but he knew people who died.

"

'Nuttall was 12 at the time of the disaster and was a pupil at Savio high school in Bootle. One of his former teachers, a Roman Catholic priest, has told the Guardian that the school believed it had been aware of the identities of every boy who had been at Hillsborough in order to help them through a difficult period, and that Nuttall was not among them.

A fellow pupil at the school who says he has been a friend of Nuttall for decades said the Ukip leader had never mentioned being there. “I have been very good friends with Paul for over 25 years,” he said, adding that during that time they had “never spoken” about Hillsborough.

Joe Benton, who was Labour MP for Bootle for 25 years, said that to the best of his knowledge Nuttall had not mentioned Hillsborough when he stood against him as Ukip’s candidate in the 2005 and 2010 general elections.

Nuttall had not mentioned being present at Hillsborough during any public meeting they had both attended, nor in his campaign literature, Benton said, despite the strength of feeling within the constituency about the police negligence that led to the deaths and the subsequent official cover-up that led to Liverpool fans being blamed for the disaster.

The Hillsborough Families Support Group has also expressed surprise that Nuttall, an MEP for the last eight years, had never been in touch to offer his support.'

Hmmm.

I think he is lying. I think he'll be finished. What a shame.

"

Paul Nuttall was at Hillsborough, he was 12 years old at the time when it happened. I just saw his statement on itv news about these events. He says he was definitely there and has friends and witnesses who were there at that match with him who would stand up in court and swear under oath they were at the match together. He said he didn't lose any close personal friends in the disaster but he knew people who died.

Funny then that Paul Nuttall openly talked about Hillsborough on an episode of BBC Question Time some time ago when he was deputy leader of Ukip. Yet all these people you claim are saying Paul Nuttall never talked about Hillsborough. I think someone is telling fibs here and it looks like it's you.

"The Labour party candidate for the upcoming by election in Stoke Central, Mr Gareth Snell, has posted a series of abusive tweets about women, it has been reported.

Stoke central have had a Labour MP since the 1950's haven't they? What have they actually done for the people in Stoke during that time?

It could be that Mr Nuttall was at Hillsborough, but he is a liar on other matters, such as his close friend dying there, having a PhD, being a former professional footballer, living in a house in stoke that you haven't move in to on an official form, not wanting to privatise the NHS and so on. He even photoshopped a picture of himself to make it look like he had a library full of books.

The two people who are, at this point, swearing he was at hills borough are his dad, who raised a liar and has his age wrong and another ukip employee who claims they were there together. Not exactly conclusive.

If he was there and if he doesn't like to talk about it, which is something I can understand, why though, did he start? Why did he not give a statement when the police were asking for anyone there to assist when the inquiry was reopened? Why did he never give any help to any of the support groups? Why, as an MEP, did he not try and use the European Parliament to assist in bringing justice to the 96?

The first time nuttall suggests he was there is 2009.

Either way you can't really complain at being doubted when you tell the truth when you have a track record of falsehood. It's not nice being on that end, might make the kippers think twice next time and to at last appreciate there is ultimately a good reason for choosing truth over lies.

He definitely said he was there, he said it on the BBC politics show or breakfast time.

I think he is saying he didn't lose a close friend there and it was a mistake on the website.

It could be but I'm half inclined to think, given he had lied to misrepresent himself in a certain light or image on several occasions in the past that this is another example and when he realised he was getting found out, this was a better way to get out of it than persisting that he was there AND a friend died. The press would ask for a name and then asked the family if nuttall even new the deceased. So that gets him busted. This way he can get away with it but only looks a bit shitty that it never seemed to be an issue that he felt strongly enough about to engage with until 2009/10 when the opportunity arose to criticise Gordon Brown in the election campaign run up to try and win ukip some seats off labour.

I'm not a cynic in real life, but these fucks have earnt it.

I've never felt annoyed enough to post angry abusive tweets about women on my social media either. I think Labour's Gareth Snell must have anger issues if this trivial stuff annoys him to the extent he posts angry abusive foul mothed comments about it on his social media. Maybe someone in the Labour party should suggest to Gareth Snell that he should go on one of those anger management courses? The guy has clearly got issues.

If you watch the cam footage of the radio interview where he is confronted with the 'close personal friend' he just looks and sounds guilty to me.

On the question of him being at Hillsborough, he is more convincing that he is telling the truth. I still wouldn't be surprised if that is also bollocks though.

I love when i hear people say 'what have 'x' party done for 'x' area. Its not the party, its government which has the real beating stick and co-operation/account holding between parties which pull an area up.

I go from Leeds to London or Leeds to cambridge. I might well think "well my city is a bit dirty and shitty" but then I see photos from leeds in the 50's, 60's, 70's , 80's and think...well atleast its cleaner and better than ten. Even my pro-brexit dad says that, ecen with rose tinted glasses on.

The only way places like stoke and Leeds will develop to get to the same standard as the south east is if central westminster actually stops having london centric policies.

'Paul Nuttall, North West Euro MP for UKIP, said: "This is a cover-up of a cover-up.

"What are the Tories frightened of? The people of Liverpool will be disgusted by these cowardly moves to hide the truth.

"Revealing the facts on Hillsborough is hardly a matter of national security, it is a matter of natural justice."

"The briefings in question are the private memos that were sent to the then Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

"Without them being made public we will never get to the bottom of that appalling tragedy when 96 Liverpool fans including CLOSE PERSONAL FRIENDS OF MINE lost their lives."

Agree there is ignorance and prejudice in the world. But the PC brigade is confusing the two. There is a difference between blaming the state and the people. Germans are not to blame for what happened in the 40s. The state was. And the Brits confuse the two... Don't mention the war.

Maybe ask the Corbynistas and the Labour party momentum activist's that question it seems they don't know the difference, they just hate Jews and Israel, full stop. As for Ruth Smeeth yes she is still a Labour MP and she also faced a torrent of abuse from Labour momentum activists at the Labour party hearing on anti semitism last year. Disgraceful behaviour that upset Ruth Smeeth so much she had to leave the room.

"She didn't do it.

The BBC news site has a report with a direct quote from Nuttall where he makes the claim. Oops, you lying fuckwit.

What a bunch of cunts UKIP are.

(That's even without the racism!)

Ah, racism. Reminds me of when my MP for Stoke North, Ruth Smeeth, recently had to employ the services of a bodyguard to attend an event because she's Jewish. Now what kind of event could that be you may ask?

Labour Donkey vs UKIP fucktard (excuse the language).

It's a assessment between which is worse. I think Nuttal is way ahead as the most unpleasant. His position appears to be down to planned political cynicism. Snell is guilty of spontaneous over-sharing.

Is that an unfair conclusion?

I think it's done a little bit of damage to Nuttall. He was at Hillsborough and people died there who he knew, the only discrepancy is whether they were close personal friends or not. I think Gareth Snell's abusive foul mouthed tweets about women have damaged Labours chances more and another story in the Stoke by election in today's newspapers which I shall post about in a moment......

Reported in today's press that Labour have warned Muslims they will go to hell if they don't vote for Labour in the Stoke by election. One of the messages said that by not backing Labours Gareth Snell in next week's by election would see "anti-Islam" Ukip win. Muslims in the city have been getting text messages saying "will you be able to answer for this in the grave and on the final day? I helped the enemies of Islam because....."

It suggests a religious duty to back Labours Gareth Snell, and adds, "may Allah grant us guidance". Another text was sent by local Labour activist Navid Hussain who has posed with Mr Snell and Jeremy Corbyn. It read "ukip are racist and hate muslims" he also said a vote for Lib dem candidate Dr Zulfiqar Ali was "the same as voting ukip". Lib dems plan to report the attempt to 'bully and intimidate' to police and poll chiefs. Lib dem leader Tim Farron said "it seeks to persuade with religion rather than political opinion". Muslim Stoke ukip activist Tariq Mahmood said "it's outrageous".

I don't think Fille Derobee has anything to say about Stoke. Usually they jump all over any comments made by Tim Farron or the Lib dems but it seems they have nothing to say about Tim Farron or the Lib dems comments on Labour's 'bullying and intimidation' of Muslims in Stoke.

"UKIP recently rehashed the disgusting 1960's slogan 'if you want a nigger for a neighbour, vote Labour' into 'if you want a jihadist for a neighbour vote Labour'.

This was spread by the UKIP Party Treasurer!

What a vile disgusting RACIST Party they are.

Ukip weren't even around in the 1960's. The UKIP party was formed in the 1990's, it would help if you do a little bit of basic research before you post such nonsense.

One of us is definitely an idiot.

Yes it's you. Your post implied Ukip had made that slogan in the 1960's. Ukip were not around then, the party was formed in the 1990's. "

No it doesn't!, it says a slogan that was used in the 1960's was plagiarised by Ukip dur.

On another thread I asked lots of questions about Stoke. I didn't venture many opinions since I don't know the area. I was interested how this might pan out given the high Leave vote, the fact the Tories were delivering hard brexit, the fact UKIP were putting their top man up, that the Lib Dems were picking up a massive pro Remain vote in local elections, that it was always a safe Labour seat but Labour are in a state etc.

You may remember the thread. You told me UKIP were going to walk it because everyone was fed up with Labour after the Hospital scandal in 2009 so would never vote for them again and I asked how you how come they returned a Labour MP in 2015. Does that not ring a bell, or did your Trumpitis kick in?

I don't know what policies, specific to Stoke that either UKIP or Labour have, but my first post on this thread was a comment on how the Labour guy would be much more committed than the UKIP knob.

I know that Labour are particularly keen on defending/investing in education and the NHS. Nuttall and the Tories want to run the NHS down so they have an excuse to privatise it.

I'm not aware of the comments the Lib Dems have made or of any bullying and intimidation of muslims, other than the general hate from UKIP in their direction and specifically that tweet echoing the 1964 election.

If that is going on then I condemn whoever is doing it, Labour, UKIP, Lib Dem or Tory.

Now it appears Labour have sunk to a new low in these 2 by elections. It was reported on BBC Newsnight last night that Labour put in their Copeland by election campaign material that the Tory policies in the NHS would lead to babies being killed and mothers being killed at the local hospital near to Copeland. Is there anything the Labour party won't say or do to scrape a few extra votes from the bottom of the barrel?

'Theresa May refused FOUR TIMES to oppose the closure of maternity services at a Copeland hospital, during a visit ahead of next week’s by-election.

The Prime Minister squirmed under questioning about proposed cuts to a local hospital during a visit to a local primary school just eight days ahead of the crunch poll.

Mrs May refused to assure locals she'd intervene to stop plans to downgrade maternity services at West Cumberland Hospital.

And she accused Labour of being "completely misleading about what she has said about maternity services."

Trudy Harrison, the Tories' candidate in Copeland, has pledged to oppose the downgrade, but the Prime Minister refused to echo her comments.

She told reporters : “Trudy Harrison, our candidate, does indeed know the importance of these services. She is opposed to the downgrading of these services.”

Asked if she was opposed to them, the Prime Minister said: “What is important is that Trudy Harrison is a candidate who has made clear her views, not just to me but to health ministers. She would be the strongest voice for Copeland.”

Asked a third time if she was opposed to the proposals, she said: “The Labour party has been completely misleading about what I’ve said about maternity services.”

And pressed on what she does actually say about them, she said: “Trudy Harrison has made very clear to me the importance of those services. “There is an issue about recruitment and retention of doctors, Trudy has come up with a very sensible idea, that there should be a professionally-led review into that issue and that is something that the health minister is looking at.”

At no point during the exchange did she reveal her own position on whether she opposes the closure of maternity services at the hospital.

Changes to the hospital's maternity ward could force pregnant mothers to travel 40 miles to the nearest specialist centre.

Andrew Gwynne, Labour’s by-election guru, said: “To make six pledges to a remote constituency on the verge of losing vital services from its hospitals, and not mention it, is incredulous.

“The Tories don’t have any answers and so have chosen to simply airbrush it out of the picture. They clearly don’t have any real understanding of what’s going on in Copeland.”

As it is this Governments policies are having a terrible impact. It sounds like the Labour Party are right to highlight is is clearly about to get much worse.

At least Teresa May could be bothered to visit the Copeland constituency to support her Conservative candidate, unlike Jeremy Corbyn. Corbyn's anti nuclear stance is going down like a lead balloon in the Copeland constituency because many jobs in the area depend on the nuclear energy industry. Corbyn knows it and that's why he is staying away.

Indeed. It is well known Corbyn isn't a fan of Nuclear, but the locals also know he won't shut the plant down, so it probably won't make a vast difference.

May has nothing to lose.

Except her 'support' was shown up in that interview.

Now we have the foul mouthed abusive Labour candidate Gareth Snell, the gift who keeps on giving in more controversy after more of his past tweets have come out in the news. This time he has directed his abuse towards Stoke hero and legend Robbie Williams. Snell tweeted "Robbie Williams on #scd and #XFactor ...someone hard up for cash or just a massive publicity whore? You decide..."

I'm sure directing abuse towards Robbie Williams who was born in the Burslem area of Stoke, and who still keeps close ties with the city and is involved with Stoke charities will go down well with Stoke voters, NOT!

In another astonishing tweet he seemed to wish singers Jedward dead, he tweeted "Dear sweet TV gods, kill Jedward, or give me back my licence fee".

This coupled with Tony Blair's timely intervention speech on Brexit, has not been a good week for Labour.

Even if Nuttall did win, do you really think he would have much impact?

If you check out Vote Watch Europe, they list all MEPs by their voting record. They have listed all of the MEPs from 1 to 750. One being the MEP who has taken part in the most votes (they voted in 100% of votes), and 750 being the MEP who has taken part in the least votes (They have never voted in the EP!)

Mr Nuttal comes out as 746. He has the fifth worst voting record out of all the 750 MEPs. However even he is beaten by Mr Farage who has the 2nd worst record of any MEP!

So I doubt Mr Nuttall would be spending much time in Westminster, or bothering to vote very often.

Sounds like you've been watching the fake news, sorry VERY fake news on CNN, because it was in the last UKIP general election manifesto in 2015 to keep the NHS free at the point of use. Paul Nuttall himself said at the UKIP conference in Bolton on Friday that while he is leader of UKIP it will always be UKIP policy to keep the NHS free at the point of use.

It's also a bit rich of Labour to talk about protecting the NHS when it was Labour who oversaw one of the biggest privatisation initiatives ever in the NHS with the expensive and costly PFI deals under the Blair/Brown government. The scandal at Stafford hospital (very local to Stoke) also happened on Labour's watch.

Do you actually think before you post these?

The notion that everyone in Stoke is fond of Robbie Williams, just because he is also from Stoke is pretty patronising. I'm from Manchester originally, please don't assume that I'm a fan of Mick Hucknall....

Tony Blair has had nothing to do with Labour for some time- in fact the most united that I have seen the left and the right recently is in their condemnation of Blair.

The notion that Jedward on telly might make you contemplate their demise seems eminently reasonable to any sane person.

By posting this, you assume that the voters of Stoke are actual retards.

So now that Nuttall's own constituency party chairman has resigned I'd like to know if the situation has changed?

Still media bias and an anti-UKIP agenda?

I'm also interested to know the reasons for voting for this man, balancing it against what has transpired about his CV.

so now two high ranking party officials have come out and condemned the lying turd-burger paul nuttall by resigning ..... here's what they said .....

"Although the timing of our resignations is unfortunate in light of upcoming elections, both Adam and I wish to make it clear, where the painful subject of Hillsborough is concerned, with closure not yet in sight, this unprofessional approach and crass insensitivity from high profile people closely within and without UKIP is upsetting and intolerable.

We identify most strongly with all the good people of Liverpool and most importantly the families of the Hillsborough victims who have fought so hard and long for justice, in their condemnation of the way UKIP has handled these issues and have resigned our positions and our membership forthwith."

..... aaron bank's private political party is begining to fall apart like a wet piece of shit paper, leaving the question what sort of person in stoke would now vote for these obnoxious, lying, self-serving, free-loaders

.... and some further quotes from the resignees, this time from adam heathrington .....

“We have been affected both personally and professionally by words that were not said in our name. With this in mind, we wish to apologise to the people of Liverpool and the Hillsborough families for any offence caused and have done what we consider to be the only honourable thing we could do which was to resign and disassociate ourselves from Ukip. I felt that supporting a libertarian party was the right thing to do in order to effect change within the political system in this country. Unfortunately that dream has been shattered and the potential of Ukip has been squandered by people who have demonstrated they are not fit to lead at present.”

A press spokesman for the pair noted:

“It is impossible for those hard working party activists at grass roots level who are never properly briefed, not to be affected by the actions of those in control of the party machinery when mistakes and poor policy decisions are made. They are the ones who are most affected in the fallout. However, they have shown personal integrity by responding to genuine criticism which it appears Ukip cannot bring itself to comment upon in a timely manner.”

What is the problem with UKIP?

Are they just incapable of telling the truth, are they so corrupt that they no longer know what the truth is, or are the so confident in their supporters bigotry that they think they can tell or publish any untruth they like without consequences?

UKIP published a photo of kippers out knocking on doors in Stoke over the weekend, problem was the photo was taken some 50 miles away from Stoke!

Seems kippers stink for a good reason!

If he is such despicable scum that his own local party chairman would rather quit than even be in the same party as him I sure hope the people of Stoke are smart enough not to elect him.

would you rather have an MP who can get nothing for your area because the seat is taken for granted?

"If they are stupid enough to vote Labour again they deserve everything they get. Nothing"

Nobody has to vote for Labour but would you maintain that the UKIP candidate should hold a seat in the Parliament of Great Britain and Northern Ireland?

Just wondering how flexible you may be once the information is available

Yes the Ukip candidate should hold a seat in Parliament if he is democratically elected by the people of Stoke to do so on Thursday. You see its called democracy which appears to be a concept you are not very fond of. Ukip already hold an MP in Parliament his name is Douglas Carswell and he was democratically elected by the people.

So although he lied on his candidate nomination which is a criminal offence that once convicted means automatic removal from office and his party being disqualified from fielding another candidate, you believe that the law should not apply to him and he should keep his seat?

What a charming bunch the UKIP canvassers are...

https://sciscomedia.co.uk/scandal-nuttall-party-canvasser-caught-urinating-elderly-voters-home/

What will it take before those here who support UKIP will admit that the UKIP leader and his activists are a disgrace?

Watch the video, it's absolutely appalling the way he tries to then force his way in to that old lady's house, God knows what he would have done if he had managed to get in.

Read the article that goes with it!

You would think that UKIP would be so mortified that he would have been gone they would have been round scrubbing the walls clean. But no, their reaction is to say no action will be taken 'he said "sorry" and he has a prostrate problem! I hope that the police prosecute him for public indecency!

He didn't lie on his nomination form he bought the house in Stoke and was in the process of moving into the property at the time the nomination was put forward. If anyone should be disqualified it is the Labour candidate because Labour have broken the law and electoral commission rules with the bullying and intimidating texts they have sent to Muslims in Stoke. As leader of the Lib dems Tim Farron pointed out it is a campaign of bullying and intimidation by Labour and they are seeking to persuade with religion rather than political opinion. The Lib dems said they were going to report Labour to the police and poll chiefs over the matter.

Ukip activists and canvassers have been physically attacked in Stoke and had their 'Ukip' rosettes physically removed and stolen from their jackets. It has all been captured on film and the perpetrators have been caught on film admitting they stole the Ukip rosettes. The scum stealing these rosettes could then wear the Ukip rosettes themselves and pretend to be Ukip activists/canvassers while acting in an inappropriate or unacceptable way.

Here is footage filmed in Stoke immediately after one of the attacks on Ukip activists took place...

www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjrBAi9IxMQ

Then here is the footage of the attackers in Stoke being confronted and in the footage you can hear the attackers admitting they physically attacked UKIP activists/canvassers and stole their UKIP rosettes from them....
