"It is why we elect representatives to parliament to make decisions on our behalf on complex matters requiring more consideration and expertise than we are able to bring. Hopefully. #referendumwas advisory #nomandateMay " No it's not. It's because politicians have no interest in electoral reform - they don't even support PR, never mind regular referenda on important issues. Your supposition has never been tested by a vote and, as long as politicians and political parties act according to the interests of the political status quo, that undemocratic position is unlikely to change. As for the expertise of politicians.....hmmm

" Is that why Tim Farron doesn't want parliament to have the responsibility of voting on the deal we negotiate with the EU? #Timnicebutdim " He wants a second referendum on the deal, since it was a first referendum that landed us in this shit. That is asking for consistency. Without that he will VOTE, in Parliament, against triggering Article 50. I realise how people look, or how they eat a sandwich, is how you base your decisions, but I hope you realise what that says about you when you are impressed by Michael Gove, Nigel Farage and Boris Johnson.

Greek shipping magnates can by cheap Mercedes with their over valued currency and Greek olive farmers can sell their produce at knock down price to the Italians who then re-label it and flog it to the rest of Europe as "genuine Italian" As if that makes any difference outside Knotting Hill.

Just Britain. And you said Britain was strong.

I asked 3. They basically say, the Greeks blame the EU because their government is using them as a scapegoat for the corruption in their own government.

So with the high unemployment and bad benefit system the Greeks ate suffering and see immigrants taking their money.

Are you seriously trying to make out Mr Farron is unaware we held a referendum last June?

" Indeed, the Greek problem is partly poor tax collection, partly a too generous benefits system for some and a too meagre one for others and mainly an over extension of personal debt during the good times, on nice German cars in many cases, which has plunged them into trouble when the financial crash - primarily a failure of the low regulation Anglo-Saxon economics started under Thatcher/Reagan - hit.

Are you seriously trying to make out Mr Farron is unaware we held a referendum last June?" Live on air, on Daily Politics yesterday... Jim Coburn "so you want a second referendum then?" Tim Farron "no, I want a FIRST referendum on the negotiated deal" So, it's not a second referendum, its a first referendum. But if the outcome if his first referendum is that the public don't like the negotiated deal, then he wants it to be a decision to stay in the EU.

"A first referendum the negotiated deal, a distinct from a second IN/OUT referendum. So what is your point?" He's playing with semantics, that's the pvoters wants a second referendum, and is trying to justify it through other means. He's trying to be clever, and making himself look rather foolish. He says that parliament should be taking note of how the remain voters feel, and yet he doesn't give a shit about how the leave voters feel.

"Not that polls have been very reliable of late but for what it's worth the latest sky news poll taken after Teresa May's Brexit speech today revealed the following..... "Do you support the UK leaving the EU single market? Yes - 51% No - 39% Don't know - 10% Now considering the leave EU vote on June 23rd last year was 52% it's telling that 51% in the sky news poll also want to leave the EU single market. " And another 10% have already changed their minds since voting to remain?
