To what extend do your political beliefs dictate or determine who you play with or your preferences?

Not in the slightest.

In fact if anything I find political debate stimulating. I have found that those who interest, challenge and stimulate me mentally are equally interesting, challenging and stimulating sexually.

Agreed, someone who can indulge in a good discussion. How about those who dismiss a whole segment if the population from their play? Does anyone assume it's because of their belief system, eg. No bi males or no blacks ....

I think we all have prejudices. Some are more obvious than others, some are more understandable than others, most are illogical and driven by ignorance and fear with one or two by an illicit attraction, but all are learned.

Personally I have to say the strangest one I have found are the couples who advertise for only men to join them in threesomes but do not want contact with bi men.

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I am a rampant bleeding heart liberal feminazi sapiosexual, and rarely dismiss anyone from getting into my pants. However I refuse to discuss politics and religion on my meets as the subjects are too personal, and usually too emotional for a NSA sexual meet.

Having said that, I probably wouldn't go any further than a social meet with members of EDL or Britain First, and they would certainly feel the same about me. Not enough in common.

It is either these men think they are so irresistible that bi men will jump them or that they think bi men are disgusting scum who deserve to be eradicated from the face of the earth. Do straight women think like that about bi women? Sadly some do .... it goes along with the 'bi lifestyle' assumption. I think it's political .... no 'others' who don't conform to the norm here! We actually bowed out of a group play event because one of the participants wouldn't play with black guys .... I just thought it would be difficult if my OH had touched her by accident.

I guess it depends what you mean by politics. I take it to mean the broadest sense, not just political parties etc

It's only political parties and (maybe) religion that would affect who I choose to play with. Politics in the broader sense of the word would not.

Our views are somewhat similar. We are happy to chat with anyone at a club or event. And we rarely bring politics into it at all. And we have shagged those across the political spectrum! That said Vik is off for a meet tomorrow with a guy which, in part, was probably due to a very engaging conversation they had at a club that involved politics. The guy had clearly travelled a lot around the world and had a lot of different viewpoints and clearly had something between his ears as well as his legs. Both of us find intelligence sexy too.

Where things get an issue is when politics morph into ethics. things like racism, homo/transphobia, etc. E.g. we were on a meet and later afterwards discovered that the guy was quite racist. We decided we didn't want to meet again due to that.

Similarly I was at a social party with a bunch of swingers from here that I'd not met before and and conversation was mainly the blokes talking about their time serving in Afghanistan (building toilets from what it seemed).. and a fair bit of 'casual racism' in the conversation from them that I didn't feel comfortable with. I shortly excused myself and left.

If we saw a profile or photos on here of someone that indicated something that didn't fit with our values (EDL poster in the background, racist wording on the profile) then we'd just move on... plenty of other people on here to meet. Just like we would do for someone who didn't attract us physically.

Having thought a bit more on this (it takes me a while to get the old grey matter running) I wouldn't make too much of an effort with people who display blatant homophobia or misogyny.

I had a sort of FB who I liked well enough but once he started saying that women and gays should shut up as we made too much fuss about our respective problems I went off him a bit.

We are all allowed our views but we are also allowed to find other views abhorrent if they make us uncomfortable.

Interesting now ... are preferences made for political/ethical reasons? How many of the non PC brigade meet bi men for example? Or do the PC brigade meet bi men because they feel they have to, just to make it fair?

Exactly. I don't *have* to shag anyone If I don't agree with some of their characteristics then I won't... be they political, social or physical things.

It's like the people that bleat on here about their freedom of speech being curtailed just because someone doesn't agree with them on a forum. They have their right to their view, and others have the right to agree or disagree with it. And the right to voice their agreement or disagreement. The fact they are able to voice their views on here in the first place without being persecuted by the government means they have Freedom of Speech.

I find strong political views a bit off-putting, whichever type it is, which is why I tend to avoid this particular forum. I agree that even in a debate we can remove ourselves without rancour as, to be honest, this site is supposed to be fun.

I think it's time for the debaters to take the forum back. Post brexit, there are other things to talk about, politically, and there are far too many personal spats being acted out here. I just wish I could think of some other threads ....that wouldn't dissolve into pettiness.

You should take up riding...

A rising trot develops a certain rhythm and inner thigh grip that is very stimulating. Of course when you get past the canter and into a full gallop then control of the stallion your riding is the key!

Well gender politics would be a good one but I can see that devolving into a slanging match quite quickly.

Something to consider this year, certainly. Politics shouldn't just be about whose side you're on.

I agree with you both, the debates here generally start well but degenerate into name calling and looking for ways to provoke others into saying something that justifies hitting the complain button in order to silence a view that cant be silenced by reasoned argument.

But on the bright side since we got a political forum the incidences of threads being censored and closed has reduced significantly so either our debating skills or our self discipline is improving.

I have never really understood gender politics. I have some understanding of some gender issues and I would not be surprised to find my views are at best simplistic, but I for one would love you to start a thread. I will definitely chip in.

Maybe Wyrdwoman can start by outlining what she understands gender issues to be, what needs addressing the most and why. I am sure that with a little guidance the thread will develop from there.

"We just leave politics to the forums! "

Same here, only place for politics is on this forum, i don't bring it up on my profile or in email exchanges with people (unless they email me about a thread on the politics forum). I generally don't discuss politics in swingers clubs, or very rarely if someone else brings it up. As someone who joined Vote Leave as a volunteer, and voted Leave and supports Brexit, some of my closest friends from swinging are Remain supporters who voted to Remain, we just don't talk about politics much when spending time together and we still get on now the same as we've always done.
