'Brussels doesn't function and needs reforming. The EU's austerity policy has ravaged its member states and could kick off a war. The whole system is constipated and needs a laxative to clear it out. It is ignoring the wishes of European citizens. What worked for 6 member states doesn't work for 28'.

oh dear

I've never been a fan of 'Sir' / 'Saint' Bob. So have always taken his opinion with a "what's in it for him?" attitude. Anyone who can raise a flag for the world's needy with one hand whilst shaking hands with those who perpetuate such need with the other will often have a selfish, hidden agenda*

*in my humble opinion.

fair point and I bet there are plenty of others who campaigned to remain because they thought there was something in it for them but who secretly hold similar views of the EU

Mr Geldof is proving to be a bit counter-productive these days, especially after the Battle of the Thames.

Rather like Blair, Mandelson etc he doesn't seem to understand that we are all fed up of those who sloganise against the "oppressors" on a Friday and then attend a cocktail party with those same folk on Saturday.

I voted Remain but if anyone asked me I would tell them I was under no illusions about what is wrong with the EU but on balance the alternative was worse.

Maybe old Bob should also apologise to all those hard working fishermen he insulted and gave the finger to on the Thames last June while he's at it.

Eveyone who based their opinion solely on the view of Bob Geldof should have the opportunity to ask for their ballot now to be changed!

Eddie Izzard hasn't seen the light like Bob Geldof yet though.

He forged a fucking good career out of it and built a massive fortune on the back of it. Think of it this way, if someone earning £200 donates a tenner to charity, but a celebrity speaks on behalf of said charity and gets paid to do so, who makes the biggest contribution.

I am a realist not a cynic.

However if we are talking about being realistic , it is the well known and famous who will bring publicity to the relevant charity which in turn will encourage the public to donate ..
