If Russia wasn't involved some other anti social mother fuckers would be in charge instead. The 12 tribes of Israel have fought each other since time immemorial, they've now just got industrialised ways of doing it nowadays.

Which humanitarian disaster are you talking about?

Would that be the one where we have followed our master the Yanks lead and backed the wrong side yet again because Syria's government was seen to be an old ally of the Soviet Union? Is it the humanitarian disaster caused by us (indirectly) arming IS? Is it the one where we have yet again destabilised a country in a region we have totally fucked up because we are governed by stupid politicians who are more interested in winning popularity competitions that doing the right thing? Is it the humanitarian disaster that has been caused by our attempt to create yet another power vacuum in the Middle East?

When you are replying to the above would you be so good as to add a word or two about how you view the political/humanitarian situation in Syria's next door neighbours Iraq? Maybe add a comment about how you see things in Libya, and how our intervention in all three countries have impacted on Europe and the EU? If you have the time you may like to end by sharing your thoughts on the rise of ultra right wing nationalism in Europe and what roll if any our interventions in the middle east have contributed to all the above.

Maybe, rather than looking to further isolate Russia because of their intervention in Syria we should be thanking them. Maybe they are not the problem but the cure and we are the Typhoid Mary spreading the disease of destabilisation across the region.

Russian now owns assad and Syria.Well played putin. There was never going to be a political solution.Sometimes violence is the only answer against violence. Assad will be a Russian puppet dictator.I doubt most of the world can find a fuck to give.

"Would we be letting this humanitarian disaster happen if Russia wasn't involved ? "

I think it is high time that we learned lessons from history.

It's a very good question by the OP.

Whatever way we look at it it is a humanitarian disaster and a stain on all humanity's history.

I can't pretend to have a definitive view on the right course of action. When a government is barrel-bombing its own people and hospitals are attacked by Russians, one cannot pretend they have any legitimacy. But then again, so many of the supposed "rebels" and "freedom fighters" that the West support and arm turn out to be the same Sunni Islamofascists that we are constantly told are the greatest threat to The West.
