Farage has achieved his and Ukip's main aim of getting Britain to leave the EU, against all the odds, all the main parties being against him and for the most part all of the media were against him too. What he has achieved in politics really is incredible, and will go down in history as one of the most important political figures in British political history for campaigning to get Britain out of the EU and then playing a big part in achieving that goal. If it wasn't for Farage and Ukip we wouldn't have had an EU referendum. Yes Farage has his faults but so does everyone. Personally I'd like to see Farage given a knighthood for what he has done for this country. | |||

Yes, I'd agree with most of that, although it was Gordon Brown who thought it was OK to leave incredible amounts of PFI debt to later generations so that he could claim to be reducing government debt. There are not too many things Labour can accuse the Tories of doing that they didn't enthusiastically indulge in themselves under Blair/Brown. As for Farage. Yes he will be in the history books but history is written by the winners so we will have to wait a generation to know who that is. | |||
