Him and his "fare-dodging" "do you know who I am", "charging cancer charities" wife are two of the most odious people around!

Let's hope the Honours System by-passes them both!

I do not like Blair, I never have. I believe he was a tory Trojan horse used to infiltrate the Labour party and move it into tory ground so that the tory party could move to the extreme right without it being noticed. The man is most definitely a first class shit.

But for all his sins he is not a war criminal. He misled parliament and the country, but that is not a war crime. The excuse used to gain popular support for the war was false, but that too is not a war crime.

Truth is Saddam had multiple opportunities to submit to the many UN resolutions and cooperate fully with the UN weapons inspectors but he choose not to. Instead he chose to play an elaborate game of bluff leading the inspectors and the world to believe he still had capabilities long lost.

It is for that reason that there was nothing illegal about the 2nd gulf war. Bottom line is Saddam attempted to use a bluff to maintain the regional status quo and lost because he failed to understand that junior had daddies unfinished business to attend to and Saddam was it!

If there was any fault in GW2 it was that there was no 'Marshal Plan' for Iraq. Or larger plan to stabilise the region and exit. Although that was 'criminal' no laws were broken. Victors are not legally required to rebuild the countries they defeat in war.

Westminster can let him off the hook but the British people won't. Blair's legacy will be dragging Britain into a war in Iraq on the back of a pack of lies and false intelligence, we the people should never let him forget it and he should be shunned and despised where ever he goes.

Truth is the inspectors NEVER thought he had such weapons......the dossiers were doctored and even they were never given to parliament....just Blaurs lies.

He had already promised the backing of our troops to GWB when he was kicking his arse in Washington. That I think DOES count as criminal.....

thing is a lot of people voted for him despite him taking us into Iraq and previously into Afghanistan..

and the Tories were in agreement all the way with the vote to go to war in 03..

i think the whole Iraq war was illegal, morally repugnant and marched in opposition to in in 03..

many mistakes were made post the actual invasion which led to the deaths of countless civilians and our own troops who were let down..

but hindsight is a great skill to have and whilst Blair took this country to war, the Tories also would have done so at that time and may have also made the same mistakes post the invasion too..

look at Libya and Camerons policy with the post overthrow of Ghaddafi and there are many similarities..

the British people have short memories and tinted glasses at times..

Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria. All that mess, thousands of deaths for what? Iraq was the first domino.

That man should hang his head in shame.

To be fair to the Tories they were fed a pack of lies by Blair in Parliament and fell for it just like a lot of the public. The tories were in opposition at the time and only Blair looked at the 'so called' intelligence on Saddam's weapons of mass destruction. The opposition in Parliament doesn't get to look at the same intelligence as the Prime Minister and put trust in the Prime Minister to tell the truth and be honest. Blair wasn't honest and truthful, he had already blindly committed our troops to support George Bush Jnr before he knew of any intelligence. The Chilcot report is a damning report on Blair. Upon the release of the Chilcot report The House of Commons debated on Blair being in contempt of Parliament for what he did.

On Libya I agree Cameron and the tories made a complete mess of it. No evidence to say the intelligence on Libya was false though and Cameron hadn't already agreed to go to war with allies before he had seen any intelligence reports like Blair did.

Blair was many things and he is now a traitor,I do not and never did like him but he never was a war criminal.

It upsets me that people can compare Blair to the likes of Hitler,Stalin,Pol Pot and the guy from Yugoslavia that was.

People need to learn more about history

only 2 tories voted against it, 84 labour voted against..

sort of gives an inclination that not all bought into the dodgy dossier equally..

agree he had already committed to it long before they bodged up the dossier to try and convince us and some of the Americans..

It is far to easy to make the correct decision in hindsight .

I fail to believe that Tony Blair would have gone to war without having good reason.

I prefer to remember him as the pm.who brokered the peace deal in Northen Ireland and in doing so has saved many lives .
