Well Farage would have to become a US citizen right? That'd take a while...

Also I believe the role of a US ambassador is more of a publicity role - British and European ambassadors do actual work.

The hard graft of diplomat in US politics tends to go to secretary of state as a friend in the US has explained to me.

So yeah, Trump could grant citizenship to Farage and appoint him as US-British ambassador, but he'd have bollocks authority here.

And it'd just discredit Farage to average voters, who'd see him as a man who got brexit but couldn't be arsed sticking in an independent Britain to help it.
