I don't no wot phonetically men's but ya it dus take extra effort to spell that's y my spelling drops in the evening cos im tiyourd and just can't consurtrate so hard.

There's only one of them elected to the House of Commons, so if that's the maximum I'd tolerate it. Their exposure should be commensurate with their MP volume, ie negligable.

They're opportunists largely and apparently imploding.

They implode because of their hidden agendas.... too few know what they are standing for when they defect from other parties. I, for one, am happy to have differing views in politics. It helps keep a balanced view of our country. We have to trust politicians as we in some way, vote for them to rule us and make our laws/decisions for us. But I don't, and have never trusted UKIP so therefore it would be impossible for me to ever vote for them...

They are pointless now. They have served their purpose and achieved their goal.

The Brexit process will start by March next year and we will be Independent no later than 2 years after that. Those are the rules.

It's certainly good to have balance but ukip are so far out there that they're disproportionately tipping it in favour of some extremist perspectives.

They're largely a failure in terms of basic electability to house of commons in our system. Commensurate coverage and discussion would merit no more than any one MP.

As you correctly say, they have only 1 MP who was a Conservative defector anyway, but they have many MEPs in the European Parliament and more importantly, they secured firstly a referendum on Europe and secondly, they achieved their aim in that referendum - to leave the EU.

Without UKIP, David Cameron would never have offered the referendum.

Plus UKIP were the 3rd largest party in terms of vote share at the last general election, they had higher vote share than the Lib dems and the SNP.

If we had a proportional representation voting system instead of first past the post, UKIP would've got around 80 MP's elected to the house of commons.

When the general elections were taking place the local UKIP guy was stood at the traffic lights by Pauls work waving all day long... Anyway he would often nip into Pauls work and ask to use the loo... A couple of weeks later he came in with a sling on... He had dislocated his shoulder from waving so much

Anyway politics and swinging not a good mix hence that's the only politics thing I will post about... Which wing I'm on stays firmly hidden, besides im far too much of a airhead to know anything anyway

if so no one is pretending that they through a weak PM at the time achieved the referendum..

hence my question, just how much of a success it will be for us all in the long term is open to question..

clearly regardless of how one voted its in all our interests that it is a 'success'..

If there is a big decision, stop the power trip and ask the country, and when you do, be relieved that you did, because the majority knows best and far better than some politician on a power and ego trip which both Blair and Cameron were on, because Cameron was just Blair.

Blair got Iraq wrong. Cameron got Libya wrong and he was wrong on the EU too until the country sorted it out for him and sorted him out too.

I personally believe most people were not farage fans in any way but voted for him just to show how displeased we were with Cameron etc who have taken the piss out of us just too blatatantly.

He's declared himself the interim leader of UKIP.

Can it survive without him? It's dangerous for a party to be so embodied by one person and with no obvious succession strategy.

I don't think it does. I'd like it to cease to exist, personally, because I don't want the Conservative party to swing to the right in an attempt to neutralise them. Look where trying to neutralise the UKIP threat has got us so far.

Parties such as these (LibDems?) might never succeed in forming a single party government but they sure do keep the other two mainstream parties on their toes
