Not read it yet but my gut reaction is yes, she's stepping aside for him maybe. No other party would have him. I reckon she realised that if he started a new party, everyone in ukip would defect.

Running and taking the job are very different things. I have heard the rumours about why Chukka pulled out and, if true, I can see why he did.

If the vague information that James has family issues to deal with is the reason then I'm sorry the pressure of being a party leader and family life have conspired against her at this time. However, this is hardly the busiest period of UKIPs life as a party and I wonder what else is going on.

The thread belongs in the politics forum anyway, where I can then ignore it.

when after nearly 3 weeks no one has let the Electoral commission know who's the new leader its either that she was being driven to go or they are incompetent..

she had 48% of the vote from members and has been dumped by the other's at the top of that party..
