London and France

I lived and worked in Austria for awhile ; Austrians have always been very " right wing" ( to put it politely), and never made much effort to conceal it.

Once , when staying in as small country village, I asked my host what all the singing was in the restaurant next door; and didn't the last song sound a bit like the Horst Vessel song

Yes, it's an SS reunion party,he said. They have it here every year. It was, too: regalia, flags, the lot.

"That is right, the far right has risen in austria, it is also hitlers birth place."

The blame for the rise of the far right in Europe falls firmly at the door of the EU and the Eurocrats in Brussels with its misguided immigration policy. The EU has refused to reform and refused to address the concerns of European people on immigration. They continue with this bonkers border free Schengen area, and the free movement of people principle and it has utterly failed the people of Europe.

We saw it again last night when they had a referendum in Hungary, the Hungarian people who voted over 90% to refuse EU quotas on taking in migrants.

The way the EU has dealt with the migrant crisis has been a shambles. As long as the EU continues down the same path it is currently on then the far right will continue to gain more ground.

Actually, that's another typical spin;

Only 43% of Hungarians voted ;

Apart from those who couldn't be bothered;

There was a campaign to boycott the referendum;

On the basis that the moderates refused to give any legitimacy to such a referendum ( which had a skewed question)

The migrant crisis currently happening in Europe. Many Individual countries have taken matters into their own hands, gone against EU rules and imposed their own border controls, erected barbed wire fences because the EU has failed them.

Schengen is a failure because in the modern world we live in it allows terrorists free movement across borders.

The EU is stuck in the past, it's high time it reforms itself and adapts to the modern world we live in today.

It was over 90% of the 43% who bothered to vote said they wanted to refuse the EU quotas on taking in migrants. The Hungarian government will take note of the result, so we'll have to wait and see if Hungary accepts EU quotas or not when it comes down to it.

Clutching at straws there. Then there's the positive side that the economies of eastern Europe have dramatically improved their living standards. You might not give a shit about that today, but in future markets like Poland, Bulgaria and Romania are becoming excellent export opportunities for Britain

Maybe look at the whole of my post instead of just quoting a small part of it.

Plus I would hardly call the terrorist threat clutching at straws. We've already seen with the attacks in Paris and Brussels how very real the terrorist threat is in mainland Europe. If you want to to call taking a chance with people's lives clutching at straws then that's on you. Allowing these people to travel freely across borders is just madness.

I think regards to what people's thoughts are just look at the realality of Europe,

It's been kept together by an unelected lot, totally out of touch with everyone and everything

There's an old but true saying,"once the cracks appear "

And we are seeing more then cracks so to speak
