Syria The attack on the humanitarian convoy

The attack on the humanitarian convoy is morally totally unacceptable and it’s a blatant violation of international law; but who is to blame?

USA;

The United States believes Russian warplanes bombed the convoy, stating two Russian Su-24 warplanes were in the air at the time

the US, which backs the rebels, has said its information clearly indicates it was an air strike

That means there only could have been two entities responsible, either the Syrian regime or the Russian government

.

Russia;

Russia states a US Predator drone was flying over the site of the attack for about 30 minutes

it was said the drone took off from Incirlik air base in Turkey, reached the area several minutes before the convoy caught fire and left about 30 minutes later (strange timing).

The Defense Ministry spokesman said he wanted to point out that, as was the case with the tragedy on September 17 which saw US-led coalition airstrike kill and injure 200 people, the Russians would not be making any unfounded allegations

Moscow, however, strongly denied it had played any part in the atrocity, while calling it “another unacceptable provocation from the USA

.

United Nations;

the NATO chief refrained from accusing any side of perpetrating the attack

It’s important to get the facts and to find out how this could happened, but I won’t speculate

.

meanwhile;

Russian aircraft carrier the Admiral Kuznetsov will join the country’s naval group operating in the eastern Mediterranean, the Defense Ministry has announced. Officials say the carrier could be used to aid the anti-terrorist mission in Syria

Syria;

Syria has invited Russian assistance with aircraft, they have NOT invited USA air assistance and yet the USA continue to fly in Syrian airspace.

So who is to blame; who is at fault?

You know it's a particularly western problem to find the "who is to blame" character!.

The Japanese prefer the "let's fix the problem".

.

There's so many fingers in the Syrian pie, I'm afraid it could be one of dozens!.

The UN have a problem, they found it out in Yugoslavia, two opposing forces at war and you want to break hostilities while we "feed" "clothe" and "medicate" your enemy.

Why do you think it was an air strike rather than ground fire? There is a distinct lack of crators that you would usually associate with an air strike. But I'm sure there are many people much better placed than me to complete a BDA.

not all air to ground ordnance will necessarily leave a crater..

the whole thing in Syria is shitty, this episode is just another in a long sad list of atrocities..

They did not but you obviously no nothing about history,I cannot be bothered going through it here but you could find it somewhere on the internet,try assignation of archduke Ferdinand,it had nothing to do with the Americans.

You know where American action actually helped bring an end to civilian warfare, before everyone gets the itchy trigger finger for American blame, let's remember the only Muslim country in Europe is Muslim because Americans put their life's on the line!

A couple of days ago, some six year olds I know were sharing about where their families came from: one from Syria, one from Kurdistan, one from Afghanistan, one from Iran and one from Iraq .... all said they are here because it's too dangerous where they came from and their families are afraid of being killed so they had to leave. Sort of shocking when they say it .... in the meantime, life goes on for these children and their families, currently living in shelters, etc., and seeking normality and safety.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Thursday that the Russian air force would continue its support of the Syrian armed forces

And why did they need to leave the Middle East a Muslim territory to cross all of Europe the get to the UK to find safety, what is wrong with the muslin nations where they have a common language and identity

So confusing. UK is anti Assad, pro rebel and anti ISIS. Russia is pro government but anti rebel. Is this secretly a Russia and UK war?

The facts are the Russians act with total impunity bombing indiscriminately civilians and hospitals.

The facts-

A reaper carries Hellfire missiles, which being an anti armour round,with a two small warhead design, would not have done the kind of damage seen.

Cast your minds back to the first Iraq conflict, Saddams column of retreating fighting vehicles hit by smart cluster bombs..

Now look at the UN vehicles, similar damage visible ground damage.

Russia still use cluster bomb weapons, the UK and US do not.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to work it out.
