It is clearly written as a racist attack on a muslim.

Don't get the point you are making.

Dont get the link to brexit.

The perpetrator is scum who should be punished beyond what he will probably receive.

Ps this should be move to the politics thread if it is brexit thing.

From the article it looks like a lunatic thug attacked some people. Whether it was race related or he was just a nutter and they caught it is not clear.

Some men will attack anyone, regardless of race.

And race is nothing to do with Brexit

.

What personally... None, however I did read a story the other day in Afghanistan about some school girls who were set on fire for going to school and tragically they were set on fire by Islamic men who were brown.

Interestingly they've made that illegal in Afghanistan as well.

.

You see, people still do daft shit despite it being illegal, these people are usually backward idiots, there'll latch on to any old shit they hear in the mosque or out on the street of London to perpetrate being a dick... So let's run through it again.

If brexit is to blame for race hate crime in London then Islam is to blame for cunts in Afghanistan??...

Or

Maybe it's just dicks using shit to further their ends

funny how the article doesn't mention the lady's religion -

Why would it matter what religion she is?

Because it the religions were reversed - it would be front page news...doh!

It's front page on the BBC website and the telgraph website you linked to at the beginning.

But with no mention of the word "Muslim""

How do you know she's a muslim?

Did Mrs May trigger Article 50 today and I missed it?

It's a horrible attack. This thread was never going to stick to the story about a racist attack by aligning it to Brexit.

I'll step away now.

Really - what does "leave mean" - are you going to read all the trade treaties, all the inter govt agreements? And notice the difference from before. no, thought not

Any ways - racist attacks have gone up since Brexit. But then - those are facts - as this poor lady found out.

You don't think opting to make our own laws, control our own borders and immigration and choosing how we spend our taxes justify Brexit?

The fall in our trade deficit, falling unemployment, trade deals already in the pipe line with the biggest economies and confidence growing daily don't justify leaving the EU?

But some imagined connection to unrelated matters does?

I just called your boss - and he agreed to my request to cut your wages by 15% for the same work. To make you more "competitive" and more :export oriented"

Am sure you will be happy with that - after all that what a £ devaluation is? A drop in wages for the same work?!

Trade deals - who with?Aus - we do £7bn of trade with them compared to £220bn with the EU.

As for immigration - without that - the City crumbles as does the tech industry

When we lose access to the single market - those that export to it will lose their jobs - while waiting for the difference between that £220bn and the £7bn

I will point them in your direction.

And we get more bigotry as this lady found out

Until I here a convicted criminal admit that Brexit motivated them to commit a racist attack, it bullshit. Any arsehole who would do that obviously isn't representative of Brexit. Brexit was reclaiming our default, historic, original status as a free, independent state.

We do £7bn of trade with Aus and E220bn with the EU.

220 is bigger than 7. A lot bigger.

And of course, the attack had nothing to do with Brexit. Of that you are totally sure...because...because...

I think some people are "taken in" by the shit they read, and some shit they read is shit... Which gets me back to people beings cunts.

You see we'd basically have to censor everything from the Qur'an down to brexit talk because frankly there's some shit in both of them "stories" that some people might misconstrue.... But I'm a liberal and I don't belive in banning shit, so although I'm seeing the problems caused by both these things....I think the answer is to get people to stop acting like dicks with any old shit they read!

So basically it's ok to assume all leave voters are racist because of the actions of one nutter? Let's call him an extremist leaver. You surely realise they are a tiny fringe who don't represent Brexit. They have misinterpreted the verses of Brexit and used them to justify there actions. Brexit is a movement of peace.

But britain cant support itself, as they have to soon start to work on the minimum wage helping the farmers in the fields, they need the migrants as they are hard workers. I cant see any brits doing them jobs. If the brits cant do it, they have to import, strawberries, potatoes and all sorts, the costs will be sky high.

Cool

I look forward to losing access to the single market - then all the job losses and then going to all the Brexiters as they queue for their dole money

I mean when you lose access to 500m people on your door step - did you really think 24m people not the other side of the world was going to make a difference ...

Unemployment is down since Brexit besides, less immigrants coming in should solve a lot of unemployment. But britain cant support itself, as they have to soon start to work on the minimum wage helping the farmers in the fields, they need the migrants as they are hard workers. I cant see any brits doing them jobs. If the brits cant do it, they have to import, strawberries, potatoes and all sorts, the costs will be sky high."

Exactly

I want every brexiter to start picking potatoes straight away!!!!!

Well said

Drivel - utter drivel. A lady loses here baby because of a thug - and the best thing to do is "ignore it". Nice.

It's been happening before we voted to leave the EU.

Not in the same numbers "

Where are the numbers and did you live through the 70s?

I always say if people don't like how the UK is developing post the EU Referendum they are perfectly free to leave and move to one of the 27 EU countries.

personally I think the Uk will do brilliantly. And as the OP is clearlu a moronic anti-brexiter happy to associate those of us who voted Leave as racists and thugs and whatever else he can think of here is a reality check from a great British industrialist:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-37352312

And he happily put that BBC EU Luvvie Kamal Ahmed in his place. Oh shit. Was that a racist remark?

Rod WHY does me being anti EU mean I can't now go to hospitals?

Why would preferring that our government controls immigration mean I should not go to hospitals?

UK citizens were happily moving about Europe before we joined the EEC in 1973 because they had a thing called a passport. I take it you have one of those?

You just showed how much the EU has brainwashed generations into their way of thinking that there is nothing without the EU and distorted their views of the world. With a passport you can go anywhere you choose. Just remember "When in Rome ..."

The world is not like that anymore. Welcomed to holiday but not to set up camp there, same as Eastern Europeans won't be welcomed to live and work here. I remember as a teenager the sense of excitement I felt when it filtered down to me that I could now live and work in any EU member state. An entitlement my teenaged daughter has grown up enjoying, and taken for granted. As a travel and tourism student it was her aim to live and work abroad, and she is devastated she will be losing that when we leave...if we do

it is just as easy to work & live in EU as it is in usa if your job warrants your employers need for you,

and your employer will take care of visa and all work requirements

I am happy you, and especially your daughter, are younger than some of us who recall family members working in foreign countries before we joined the EEC / EC / EU. There was a life and a functioning world before the EEC...

And whatever arrangements are made it will be by mutual agreement. NOT as you seem to indicate by us creating anything unilaterally. What WILL happen is that we will no longer be the open market for any out of work Romanian labourer while having to create barriers to skilled Canadians to control numbers. In future we will decide what skills we need, how many we can support in health, education and housing and then allow in the best people from wherever they live. Not just because they have 'European Union' on their passports.

Given the Thread is about 'Brexit Britain' I hope people are watching a certain Herr Juncker giving a Presidential 'State of the Union' address to the EU Parliament. And that he has confirmed what was denied by the Remonaers: The EU will be setting up an EU military headquarters. The European monstrosity marches on!

Juncker also threatens the UK that we MUST have 'Freedom of Movement' if we want access to the EU Single Market. Well Juncker may be getting a letter from the WTO. If it is a condition for one non-member then it is a condition for all non-members. I can see the USA 'having a word' as well...

If anyone has any doubts about leaving this corrupt ambitious but dysfunctional edifice to political vanity then this must surely make them more reassured now. Personally I could not stomach the best military in the world being commanded by the likes of bloody Juncker and I can happily do without a Mercedes or VW if that is the price of our Sovereignty.

Others will disagree no doubt.

Talk about being in denial doesnt Juncker realise that its not quite a political state YET,if he wanted more eu member states to demand votes to leave he couldnt do a better job than saying we are having an eu army,at least if he said we are going all out for a single super state it would be honest, the man is a megalomaniac and people say boris is a loose canon

But a nasty racist attack and linking it to an outbreak of Little Englanderism ...and boy do people get defensive

As a Remain voting Corbynite who has spent a big part of his life fighting racism. Can I point out that I'm not getting defensive. I just disagree with your agenda and the fact you'd use a dead baby to try and prove a very tenuous point "

"I always say if people don't like how the UK is developing post the EU Referendum they are perfectly free to leave and move to one of the 27 EU countries.

We can't though if we're going to lose our freedom of movement - it's two way traffic!

Not just because they have 'European Union' on their passports."

Ha - what rubbish - there will be little change to the immigration unless the Brexiters want to get off the fat bums and do the crop picking

Always, the same - blame the immigrant for picking the food and working as nurses in the NHS. Don't worry, you will find out when there aren't enough doctors to staff the NHS!

The world is not like that anymore. We will either have reciprocal agree with the eu or countries where they get free access to this country or a visa exemption system like the ESTA in the US which costs around 10 quid. Going anyway without is unusual we forget this because we hVe been in the eu so long and we can just go to lots of countries without a visa.

I have been lucky enough to have worked in and holidayed in the USA and visited South Africa, Australia, Dhubai on holiday all since we joined the EEC / EC / EU. It was never a hassle just followed the rules.

And people forget you can't actually fly to anywhere in the EU without a passport ...

That's holidays - you're not talking about holidays, your post was advising us to pack up and move there - we won't be able to do that if Brexit means stopping other EU citizens doing the same over here!

Why Not

it is just as easy to work & live in EU as it is in usa if your job warrants your employers need for you,

and your employer will take care of visa and all work requirements

I love the Brexit naivety - having lived and worked in the Us - the make it difficult but not impossible for UK and EU citizens to work there. Likewise the EU will do the same to UK citizens who want to work in the EU. Difficult not impossible.

I love little Englanders - look forward to them turning up at hospital and finding no staff there..

There are so dim - who will staff the NHS but immigrants! Wait until the waiting lists rise!

Hate to tell you this but people moved and worked to most eu countries well before free movement existed and well before the eu even existedwe will just revert to the old system and fill in some paperwork as for the nhs even if we went to australian style system doctors and nurses would be high on the list of essential so not much will change especially as most of the nurses come from the phillipines and other non eu countries anyway

"Welcome to the dark side!!!

No not that dark side, I mean welcome to the politics forum

Cool

I look forward to losing access to the single market - then all the job losses and then going to all the Brexiters as they queue for their dole money

I mean when you lose access to 500m people on your door step - did you really think 24m people not the other side of the world was going to make a difference ...

Not the sharpest tool in the box are you OP. That 500m people in the EU market includes the UK population. The UK population is around 70 million people so when we leave the EU will have a market of 430 million, not the 500 million you seem so sure about.

Wow a Brexiter who can do maths - perhaps ou would like to like to predict where inflation will be next year - after the devaluation?

the answer is higher...

Don't worry, your wages will be the same and you will be poorer. Hopefully the biz you are in won't get access to the Eu - so you suffer the consequences of your actions

"

To be fair the 500m/430m was a pretty simple mathematical calculation that you seemed incapable of comprehending, lol. And this devaluation of the pound you keep banging on about, would that be the same devaluation that has given a big boost to the UK tourism industry since Brexit and the same devaluation that has given a massive boost to UK exports. In fact the UK manufacturing industry has just seen the biggest month on month jump in growth for August for the last 25 years, thanks to the lower value of the pound and added to that the devaluation of the pound has also given the UK services industry a big boost in the month of August.

"Given the Thread is about 'Brexit Britain' I hope people are watching a certain Herr Juncker giving a Presidential 'State of the Union' address to the EU Parliament.

DOnt worry, you will be poorer given we will no longer have access to the single market. To all the future unemployed , I will point them in your direction.

"

That will be a single market of 430 million once the UK has left the EU remember.

Now if you want to talk about unemployment you really should take a look at Greece or Spain and see how their unemployment figures are doing as fully paid up members of the EU.

Rod seriously, why stay? Why not get yourself into Europe before it's too late.

Serious question, why stay?

You regard the majority of the British voting public as stupid, ignorant, racist, bigoted and dishonest.

You are convinced the country is ruined and will collapse.

So... WHY you still here???

OP you started this thread on the basis of a horible attack on a woman. You complained her religion wasn't mentioned and it was 2nd page news (incorrect, but anyway).

Since then you have just turned it into a brexit debate, and yourself pushed this womans misery onto the second page.

Not nice politics.

London and over UK

"OP you started this thread on the basis of a horible attack on a woman. You complained her religion wasn't mentioned and it was 2nd page news (incorrect, but anyway).

Since then you have just turned it into a brexit debate, and yourself pushed this womans misery onto the second page.

Not nice politics."

It wasn't nice what happened to her. Yet that you ignore. Race attacks have gone up since Brexit. Yet that you ignore. Frankly that is "not nice"

London and over UK

"Rod seriously, why stay? Why not get yourself into Europe before it's too late.

Serious question, why stay?

You regard the majority of the British voting public as stupid, ignorant, racist, bigoted and dishonest.

You are convinced the country is ruined and will collapse.

So... WHY you still here???

Because we ain't leaving the eu!!!

London will get all the advantages of staying and the other parts of the uk will suffer because they voted to leave... Someone will suffer from leaving ....so long as it's the brexiters ....I am fine with that!!!

Who's making all that happen Rod? Santa? Cos you wrote to him?

Maybe he doesn't want to go to live in Spain or Greece because of the sky high unemployment there and he won't be able to get a job? Maybe he doesn't want to go to live and work in Romania or Bulgaria because wages there are less than half of the minimum wage here in the UK? "

I talked to you boss, and we reduced your wages. To make you more "competitive". It's like a devaluation!

When we lose access to the single market, hopefully your industry will lose access as well. Perhaps your wages will go down further, or you will lose your job. But as you say, you shouldn't worry, we can start exporting to Australia on the other side of the planet! Chin up, I say, You voted for brexit, you should take the consequences. I mean if you think it's a good idea, you should take the rough with the smooth.

I've not ignored it, I think it's disgusting. Ive said that 3-4 times, yet you are happy to insult me like that.

You've ignored her in your last dozen posts, as you quickly twisted it to a brexit thing.

Time for you to look in the mirror.

I have no time for your ridiculous attitude.
