My thought was that you clearly have not been to the Isle of Wight.

The former head of OFSTED had his arse so far up his PC backside that his small irrelevant brain cells confused the Isle of Wight with Rochdale, Rotherham, Bradford, Telford...

Forced out of office by the staged AstroTurf of 'outraged of', and we can now all carry on as before. Of course that means the the message that was being delivered about the appalling standards of education on the Isle of White can be ignored and more poor children can be condemned to the waste dump of life before they reach puberty because of the failure to fund IoW education.

Maybe the consensus here should give a little thought to the issue that the (admittedly poorly chosen) remark was drawing attention to. But hey who wants OFSTED to point out failings, and force them into the public domain when the DoE ignores the original reports? Much better have a PC jobsworth who will toe the party line and keep their head down.

Ah, the irony.

The "appalling standards of education on the Isle of White."

Are you also being ironic too?

It's just that you're suggesting a typo negates the importance of his message. When his point was that a poor choice of words shouldn't negate the point being made!

Worryingly, I agree with you. The choice of words was wrong but the message was meant with the best of intentions.

Unfortunately the PC brigade are all too willing to attack anything they think may offend people they don't know. Without actually asking first. I know what I mean.

David Icke has some very unique opinions on the Isle of Wight. He may have a point from what I saw during Cowes Week.
