"Is this following on from the oily wank thread? I want to vote Labour not for privatization of NHS." Nobody is privatising the NHS,the problem is the private parts of the NHS were mostly done by labour. The NHS in its present form cannot work and should not be free for the whealthy, not available to drug addicts, alcohlics non UK citizens. The whole thing needs a a shake up that no government will do

The Tories opposed it then under Thatcher criminally underfunded it and tried to dismantle it. Along with the education system which was also underfunded. The Labour privatisation of the NHS as you call it was in part the only way of trying to catch up. In any case it was New Labour which was Tory Lite that did that really. We can fund the NHS. Private healthcare costs more and leaves people behind especially those born into poverty or with cconditions, neither of which are their fault.

"Oily Owen is still a far more appealing electoral prospect then the trojan horse that is Corbyn......a man so wrapped up in his own importance that he will sink the Labour ship with out a backward glance......... " So what will happen if he is voted in as leader again? Will the party split?

"Whether Corbyn is the right man or not, it is the PLP that have behaved appallingly. It is them that have caused this farce. What they should have done is backed him to the hilt from the off. He won the vote. He didn't do it by a small margin of so called infiltrators. The hard left parties that could infiltrate the Labour Party number about 5000 in total. The Labour Party has swelled by more than 200,000. This is not a militant thing it is normal people wanting an alternative to Tory Lite and sound bite politicians. The PLP should have give it a go for a couple of years before making their minds up he was good enough. Instead they have given him 10 months. 10 months where he not only hasn't had his party backing him, many have been actively undermining him from day one. That is disgraceful. The problem is there are some hard left militants that are behaving disgracefully now in Corbyns name. " 'Normal' people don't join political parties, they just vote every 4 or 5 years

" We have the 18th best healthcare in the world according to the WHO. There are plenty of better systems. I don't care if they cost more, healthcare is worth spending money on.

"I thought the WHO stopped trying to rank countries six years ago due to the difficulty and controversy over the many various methods. At one point not so long ago there were some surveys or reports that ranked us top. Most surveys have shown us slip in the last few years of course because we have. Anyone using the NHS knows it has worsened in the last 6 years because of cuts, which is what always happens under Conservative governments. " The OCED says Britain is "below average" on the quality ad quantity of healthcare. WHO put us 18th and the Euro Health Consumer Index had Britain 14/37. There was one study of 11 countries that had Britain top but it's method has been hounded worse than the WHO one for giving more weight to input that outcomes. It mainly liked the fact that the NHS is cheap rather than saying it's any good. So 3 studies put the UK in about the same place vrs the 1.
