"Its all over, 60 dead from "act of treason" . The AFP news agency is reporting that 754 members of Turkish armed forces have been arrested for involvement in the coup, citing Turkey's state-run Anatolia news agency. . It quoted a Turkish official saying that 29 colonels and five generals had been removed from their posts . Who needs to watch the movies its here for real, best get them in as EU members before it gets worse " Urdogan leads an Islamist party. The military, as set up under the secular constitution, which Attaturk set up after the Ottoman Empire collapsed, are sworn to uphold secularism. Urdogan has eroded more and more freedoms. Basically shut down the free press etc and gradually islamifying the country. He has also been strengthening presidential powers, some fearing he wishes to be president for life. I fear Turkey will now become very much more Islamified as Urdogan will feel empowered by this. Bad times!!!

"Im on holiday in Turkey at the moment. The hotel masseur is ex NATO soldier. He and some of his friend's served in Iraq. The panic in the hotel last night and the fear in the eyes of some was awful. We are a few hundred miles away from the trouble but its still unsettling. The world is so small. There is more than enough for everyone but the greedy and power hungry play with lives of innocent people. I hate the world is so full of hate. " I hope you are ok and that you return from your holidays safely.

We would do the same in the UK, or on any of our air policing missions.
