"I have now been through two referendums in a few years. Both have split the country and left bitterness in there wake........Is it not time the politicians did what they are paid for and put there ideas in the party manifesto, letting us vote accordingly. x" Yes. It's called parliamentary documentary - we appear to be abandoning it at present.

"who's pissed off? will ask you that when a brexit deal is done " whether a good or bad deal, I have worked hard and there is very little except health that can change my lifestyle & living now, that includes leaving the EU If anything, I actually feel better now that we have left, shows that we can hold our head up high

"Referendums are something which are fine in principle, but in reality are nuts. Most people don't vote on facts. However most people don't know what they don't know. As is seen on here, everyone is an expert, but most times have taken up an entrenched view and then, deliberately or not, bend the facts to suit that position. Parliament should be the ones who make the important decisions, but unfortunatey the public have rightly lost confidence in them. " Most sensible post I've read on here in a while. ![]()

"Unfortunately..."The i am alright Jack" mentality is alive and well with some people. This is what causes division and makes some people appear less than enlightened." Thing is for some of us it was "I'm alright Jack, but it could be for you too" and voted accordingly, for those you were trying to help turn round and vote to make their lives worst! "Those types" will be the ones bleating the most and attacking Mr Patel's corner shop because their lives haven't improved whilst Mr Patel is still on business.

"I have now been through two referendums in a few years. Both have split the country" When was the country united? There was a north / south divide long before these referendums came around.

"Well i did notice that the north of England and the south east of England were very much united. So it is not as simple as north/south splits." North voted leave, South East contains London which voted remain! The South West voted to leave but that's conservative / lib Dem country and has no similarity with the north in general elections
