It will be the members at grass root levels that decide his fate.

Looks to me like the party will split, as the blairite red tory faction seem to be a tad disconnected from their membership and constituents.

He may be a lovely guy but he has been a protest MP his whole life, opposing his own party as much as the opposition. Not a good track record for a party leader.

The parliamentary Labour party, who know him better than anyone, say he is no manager or leader and cannot take his MPs with him. You cannot win elections on a protest vote or run a government when 70% of your MPs will not do what you tell them. The MPs calling for him to go do so only because they want to be a credible opposition.

The thousands that have joined the the labour party over the last few days, presumably to keep him in, are likely to be either secret conservatives or sadly unrealistic left wing socialists. The latter like the ideas Corbyn spouts whilst not apparently caring they cannot work in the real world. Build nuclear submarines but not arm them ffs!!

When Labour stop listening to the public who vote for them, they lose their place in politics

they have lost Scotland and looks like they are losing England too

they need to take a good look at themselves or the Labour party will die.

Yes they have lost Scotland due to poor leadership....and it continues with the present leader....but the political cuckoos that are the SNP are showing signs of losing there touch....slight fraying at the edges and no talent below the top three ..in fact no talent at all below Sturgeon, Swinney and that shouty one lol xx

seems to be the nature of the left that it either hasn't adapted to the changes in society with the reduction in heavy industries and its core vote..

it has a habit of tearing itself apart or trying to be something it is not to get in power..

the schism in the Tory party over the EU and for some plain old Europe may be whilst not sorted with the as yet not known outcome of Brexit, perhaps shushed a little..

How do you square that view with Jeremy Corbyn having held the most ideologically mixed shadow cabinet of any Labour leader in history?

The only reason there is any 'ideological purity' in the SC at the moment is because people with different views to Jeremy keep resigning!
