So EasyJet are one of the first to bail out and head to Europe

initially looking for an offshore base

.

I have never used them and never will

.

Will you continue to fly EasyJet for a cheap low budget flight

.

I cant say I will stop using them as I never have used them

I prefer to fly in comfort, but I do understand there is a need & demand for the cheapest of cheap and people will use without principle

enjoy your flights

Best check how the airline you use operates .

It would involve up-ending easyJet's current corporate structure by making its existing UK AOC entity a subsidiary of its newly incorporated legal headquarters.

British Airways' parent, International Airlines Group, already operates using a similar structure, while Ryanair could adopt such a model in future.

A source said that easyJet had received advice that "the most workable structure would be to be an EU-registered entity with a UK subsidiary

Given Ryannair is an Irish airline and buy all their jets from the USA I don't think their contribution to the UK or indeed the EU adds up to a row of beans.

Personally I love Ireland but even that hasn't made me, nor would it make me, ever fly with them.

They will still fly to and from the UK as they make a huge chunk of their profits here... go figure.

Ryanair and EasyJet have revolutionised air travel across Europe and Ryanair carry more passengers than anyone else. Millions of Brits have benefitted from the EU open skies policies and the ceasing of new UK based hubs and a pausing of growth is not good news for millions of passengers.

So as I said they make a huge chunk of profits from the UK and therefore will continue to fly in and out of the UK. Thank you for confirming that.

'Open Skies' is an EU / USA arrangement and so hardly affects Ryannair or Easy jet or indeed intra EU air travel.

You don't 'pause growth' and certainly not Ryannair. Growth happens as a result of your pricing and performance policies. Or external factors of course.

I still say if they want the slice of the UK market O'Leary says they want then he will open hubs. If he doesn't others will.

Aviation is my thing. You are wrong. The open skies external agreement is a relatively new agreement between the EU and US. The original EU open skies agreement that really came together in 1992 effectively homogenised the European aviation fleet and deregulated it to such a degree that any one carrier from any one nation was able to act as a home carrier in any nation.

The original open skies agreement has everything to do with the enlargement and success of both Ryanair and EasyJet because it game them home carrier status in any and all of the 28 states. That will become 27 if/when the UK commits economic suicide.

I was really interested in your comments until the last sentence ... but moving swiftly on:

OK so if this was 1992 then it had nothing to do with the EU. It was the EEC which was a trading arrangement between 12 countries in 1992. I was involved in European transport in many different levels and what you described was what we called in Road Transport "Third Country Running" using Community Permits rather than bilateral ones. It was a general liberalisation of all transport and not just air transport.

Had it all remained as the EEC with 12 similar countries then I would never have voted Leave because even though Freedom of Movement did exist it was all in balance and at very low numbers. It was the EC, then the EU, then the Euro and then the opening up to 28 countries that changed everything for the worse.

The world evolves. Wishing things stayed the same never works.

One of the reasons that Brexit will fail so many Labour voters is because they voted for a vision of the past that is not coming back. High paying, regular and stable jobs for low skilled people are not coming back and unfortunately a number of normally Labour voting people think that reducing immigration will bring back jobs for life. It is not going to happen.

They have revolutionised air travel if your happy to fight for a seat pay exorbitant amounts to put a case in the hold be packed in like sardines and get taken to an airport at least 50 miles from the so called destination with very few staff and even less public transport and unless you are booking 5yrs in advance are not actually that much cheaper than much better airlines

They have revolutionised air travel if your happy to fight for a seat pay exorbitant amounts to put a case in the hold be packed in like sardines and get taken to an airport at least 50 miles from the so called destination with very few staff and even less public transport and unless you are booking 5yrs in advance are not actually that much cheaper than much better airlines"

The bigger question behind all the bluster of which billionaire company will leave x or which jumbo carrier will be x more expensive is..

.

To a certain percentage of the country they really really don't give a flying fuck.... Because they never have been able to afford a house or flying around Europe or fucking roaming charges, they don't give a flying fuck about HSBC and investment sector financing because there never going to work there, the ones that do work have seen their wages which were shit 30 years ago been slowly killed by inflation to the point where they can't even get by without pawnbrokers or wonga.Com, most of them haven't even had a bank account... And you think there worried about some fucking well paid dick in the city relocating to Frankfurt.... hobeho!

Politicans didn't know what to do with a big chunk of society once globalisation came along, so they did what politicans have done for centuries.... Stuck their head in the sand.

And right around the corner, you've got another massive section of society that will be wiped out by automation...

.

And still NOBODY knows what to do?

What COULD possibly be the problem?

It's a fucking total mystery

""It's not like they didn't tell you there would be consequences now.. So please don't feign shock

P. S Ryanair yesterday said there would be no more inward investment in the uk at the moment and there brand new aircraft they are getting will not be used on any uk routes "

Absolute garbage. In the last 12 months EasyJet and Ryanair have taken us to Las Palmas, Amsterdam schipol, Beziers (Cap d'Agde), Malaga and Barcelona. These were are super convenient (or the main airport anyway) and cheaper by a country mile than anything else on offer.

Although they do fly direct to several destinations try taking a flight to reykjavik you actually go to keflavik 33miles away or a Ryanair flight to frankfurt you go to haha some 75 miles from frankfurt so I'm not talking total garbage also it costs 70 pounds to put luggage in the hold each way so I can only assume you went on city breaks and only took cabin bags I have just priced up for a return flight to lanzarote for 2 Ryanair 613.22 or monarch 453.20 which is a much better airline anyway and 160 quid cheaper so again not total garbage finally put yourself in a passenger from Barcelona who grabs an easyjet flight to London and ends up in Luton or worse still goes Ryanair and ends up in Stansted how happy would you be?

Here is what you said as a statement of fact...

"They have revolutionised air travel if your happy to fight for a seat pay exorbitant amounts to put a case in the hold be packed in like sardines and get taken to an airport at least 50 miles from the so called destination with very few staff and even less public transport and unless you are booking 5yrs in advance are not actually that much cheaper than much better airlines"

1) There is no need to fight for a seat

2) The cost of the ticket being split from the cost of baggage is a benefit for most people albeit exorbitant is something of an exaggeration.

3) Neither Ryanair or EasyJet pack people like sardines. There is no difference in seating arrangements on KLM, Iberia and Aer Lingus and indeed I would say that the newer EasyJet Airbuses are a cut above some of the older national carrier aircraft.

4) I am not going to check every airport but your allegation that airports are AT LEAST 50 miles from the destination is probably accurate in a handful of destinations. The majority it is not.

5) The Ryanair and EasyJet models are to open up regional airports and bring an economic boost to regional airports. It is beneficial, not detrimental that so many smaller airports across the UK now have intetnational routes. Exeter, Cardiff and Bristol are prime examples of such success because national carriers are just not interested in regional airports. Ryanair flies to Toulouse, Carcassonne, Beziers, Nimes and Montpelier in the French Languedoc from multiple UK and European airports and all of those French airports are relatively small. The economic benefits of those routings is enormous and every one of those airports has public transport available and coordinated with the flight arrivals.

6) 5 years??? Really????

Firstly my op was light hearted banter if you took it literally I can't be blamed but to come back on some of your points:

1. Unless you pay to select your seats you turn up and take your chance so you may not literally be fighting but if your not first to board you may not be together

2. Do you really think the budget airlines use regional airports to bring the airport or area economic benefits or is it because they make more money and trust me as soon as they don't make the money they leave email airport prime example built them there own dedicated checking his hall gave them deal on landing fees for two years which as soon as ran out they left putting over 100 people out of work

3. EasyJet seat pitch 29 inches KLM is 31 and thomson 33 and at 6ft 3 that 4 inches makes all the difference believe me

4. Finally everyone knows you can't book 5 yrs in advance but for example Manchester to alienate tomorrow 133quid before taxes and extras next March which is furthest you can book ahead online 51 quid and no sign whatsoever of the 10000 seats at 29.99 as advertised on their main page funny that
