I think may should be the new pm and gove should be the mouthpiece at the negotiation table.

I still think there is a place for Boris just not in the negociations (crosses fingers)

We don't have it for anything now. Was overturned back in the late 90s. And actually I think it was a direct result of the Eu not allowing the death penalty for anything!

No. I think Gove saw at close hand how Boris really operates and found out he is chaotic when not controlled.

I don't like Gove's wife, Sarah Vine, at all and wouldn't be surprised if she is the one who made the decision that tethering to BoJo would not be a good move.

As I understand it, most of the party find Gove to be intellectually bright and astute and incredibly polite and nice. That's not quite how I see him but I appreciate the immediate changes he made to overturn Grayling's mess of managing the MoJ.

Again its all about Boris and his ego, he knew he would not get a crack at the top job had he went with remain so he chose leave..

once Gove and his wife 'leaked' the email and Gove announced he is standing and did a number on Boris, Boris knew he would not get to be PM so he has bottled it..

the referendum for him was all out his ego, his lack of any credible plan for when Cameron handed him the baby on Fri and his piece in the Telegraph only served to show that the referendum been not at the forefront of his mind..

coward..

Ironic that BoJo knifed Cameron only to be knifed himself by Gove.

Still I doubt that Boris would ever have been able to live down the 350 million reasons he gave for leaving the EU, not to mention the unfortunate zip line picture.

All the figures say you are wrong! Not the crap from the Brexit or remain campaigns but the proper figures.

The pound always drops at this time of year against the dollar and euro, the stock market is rising.

Go out and check the real figures by independent sources and you will see the future is bright.

Seemingly more than £1 billion worth of EU money is spent on University research here in the UK. Bizarre that we want and need brighter people and to be at the cutting edge of scientific advanaces and so take an action to cut such funding. I get it that it is our own money coming back, but I dont see such funding coming directly from any UK Govt.

That said I would not imagine the typical Brexiter would care one iota about higher education research funding,

Well to answer the rhetorical question I was asked, I remain optimistic about a future I didn't vote for because politicians will never be the determining factor in our success. The average British person seems to suffer from a degree of Stockholm syndrome believing that only the government can solve problems.

on the road to nowhere in particular

Everyone seems to have missed Boris saying he didn't have the backing of his fellow MPs Maybe he didn't have enough backers regardless of Gove.

So many people on this thread slagging Boris to hell;

.

wonder what kind of sauce they would like on their words, they may taste better when they eat them.
