Who is out of touch ?

the people or the parties (both)

Both parties appear to disagree with the public vote.

Cambridge

well with the labour party, it seems as though the leadership is out of step with majority of MPs, and the party members that voted for the leadership, seem to be well out of step of labour voters.

The party members are labour voters.

But that's the trouble. Labour has to appeal to more than the members to be electable.

The members are politically engaged and dare I say it, an awful lot come from the more radical side of the left. Appealing to the centre ground wins elections.

Listen to the members only and they will solely be a party of opposition, or even worse lose relevance totally.
