must have missed it when i was watching the new Martian ambassador being welcomed to number 10 by the new PM Dennis Skinner..

as usual there was a small protest from the little worlders complaining about the Martians coming down here and nicking all our jobs..

You could actually address it to anyone who hasn't accepted the result. then you wouldn't need to have a hypothetical scenario..?

not seen anyone on here saying they have not accepted it to be honest..?

It would appear that many people in the country haven't accepted the result so the question is both valid and justified.

well maybe there are but whilst many on here have doubts as to what the plan is with good reason i would add there doesn't seem to be any on here that have not accepted it..

The headline is hypothetical, it's a question asked in order to try and establish where and when a result is correct. This is of course based on recent events such as the call by several million people for a second referendum. I didn't realise that politics on here is localised.

glad i missed the fucker tbh, the first one caused all sorts of rows..

The government needs to create an exit strategy and briefing, prior to any referendum. And the government should not feel compelled to accept any voting result. We've elected them to take such vital decisions on our behalf.

In regards to a referendum, I suggest at the moment a turn out of 75% plus a majority of 65% is required. It's more representational.

Mandatory voting, I agree with it, however nobody should be forced to vote for a candidate they don't like so a "none of the above" option should exist.

A second referendum on the same question will not give enough majority for people to be happy.

Back to original question, I'm sure the leave voters would all pack up their union jacks and be happy if it was 52-48 the other way. Definitely. No question

this is their and their children's future.."

I don't agree with the voting age being 16. The reason is this, school leaving age is 18. There has to be a cut off point and I believe that seeing as you can't legally leave education and enter full-time work until 18 then 18 is the correct age.
