I've just seen some footage from the protest there today. There are signs that have been made by the local council right near the barracks where they house the illegally entered men who've arrived by small boat.

The signs show no defecating, urinating or spitting in public. Not the words themselves but little stick men crouching and pooing or standing up to pee and another showing a man spitting.

Obviously none of this information is in the leaflets given out to them to say raype is not allowed in the UK.

But it's ok, these poor men are fleeing from war torn countries and only passed through nine safe countries to get here. Poor little lambs!

Can we not just get back to the sex instead of all this race baiting, far-left and far-right, if you are with us then you are against us, Palestine v Israel.

Can we not just have somewhere that we can just ask for a wank, tributes and try to connect with people we want to share some pleasure and making some great memories with.

So its fine to have a Piddington post but not a Crowborough one in The Lounge. Oh wait, they had their own referendum....

This is not race baiting. Doesn't anyone else feel concerned that these signs have to put up in the first place?

Next there'll be signs saying you can't burn witches!

I recently read Rory Stewart's account of walking through Afghanistan. In the villages all the things mentioned on those signs are common, it wasn't unusual for him to see a guy squatting by the side of the road. That's probably why the signs are there so that the men know it's not accepted in the UK.

Perhaps the most appropriate place to put this thread was in the politics section.

And these thread and the likes of these threads start to become impossible to ignore when their seems to be similar threads, which are opened to create discourse, every other hour.

Some of us simply want to find good connections, people to share good experiences with on here, the anger and bitterness that these post bring, do we not get enough in the real world.

So similar to when visiting UAE and similar countries where kissing is banned in public? Do they have signs up for foreigners showing two people kissing?

Just curious...

It is up to the individual in a foreign land to know what is legal/acceptable. If i were to go to Dubai for example, I'd know that kissing in public is not allowed. Do we want men here who think that defecating in the street is acceptable?

Being the UK we'll probably introduce a two-tier system whereby it's perfectly acceptable for some groups to crap on the road. Essentially this is what has happened with meat. It's a legal requirement in the UK to stun animals before slaughter - except that Kosher and Halal have an exemption. But why so? It's either acceptable to stun or it isn't.

Legal routes for the few genuine refugees yes. The other economic migrants can get lost.

I frequently work in Europe and we here are definitely worse off than most other places. We pay so much more for the same. The cost to France for example for protecting our borders could fund 20k nurses to be trained over here. Let that sink in!

And that’s what our asylum system is meant to do / differentiate between the genuine asylum seekers and the disingenuous- but in order to do that, they have to be processed, and at present there are no safe routes to allow that (with a few exceptions from specific nations) - meaning that small boats or lying (arriving ‘on holiday’ then claiming asylum is one example) are the only options available.

According to the government

Just under half, or approximately 48%, of asylum seekers arrive in the UK through authorized or legal entry routes (such as valid visas or prior legal leave) before subsequently claiming asylum, while roughly 52% arrive via unauthorized or irregular routes

I saw first hand at Manchester Airport last year an African woman had come off a flight and said she had no passport.

I think when people are going through boarding (to the UK), everyone should have their photos taken holding their passport.

Could be done at security when standing in the booth with your arms out stretched. They've even got shoe scanners now so why not a way to record someone holding their passport. Put a stop to this nonsense of saying you have no passport when you've literally just got off a flight!

The airline will already have a list of all those people that boarded the flight and their passport details. UK Immigration will have a list of all the passports that were shown by people entering the country. It won't be difficult to compare the 2 datasets and work out which passport was used to get on the plane, but not used to enter the UK. We don't need new rules to solve this problem.

Well she’s clearly lying (if it was an international flight at least). That’s fine, she can be checked. Her luggage can be checked, she can be detained, because she sure as hell had one when she boarded the plane.

I'm not sure that comparing a woman entering the country via a flight to economic migrants who are very much gaming the system on the small boat crossings is fair.

The person could have left their passport on the plane, dropped it on the way through to security, mistakes happen.

Wrong way around. I was quoting the government figures that say 48% arrive via authorized/Legal means and 52% are the illegal entrants (mostly small boats). This shows that legal methods are available as nearly half used them. No idea how your lady boarded a plane in the first place without a passport. At least we know it's not so easy to dump ID overboard as you approach the UK on a plane as it is in the small boats

The ‘legal methods’ involve things like overstaying a visa, or coming on a holiday visa and then claiming asylum. Which are not really legal methods at all. We have vanishingly few ‘legal’ methods of coming to the U.K. for the explicit reason of claiming asylum.

So similar to when visiting UAE and similar countries where kissing is banned in public? Do they have signs up for foreigners showing two people kissing?

Just curious..."

Do UK swimming pools still have the sign saying "no petting" with an illustration ?

"This is not race baiting. Doesn't anyone else feel concerned that these signs have to put up in the first place?

You think that every foreigner that arrives here should already have a full knowledge of British customs, and be fully aware of what is and isn't acceptable behaviour?"

The signs are about not pissing or shitting in public…

Shouldn’t somethings be obvious to foreigners?

Oh, come on!

The signs have been not been put up for the immigrants.

They've been put up to goad the locals into rebellion against the existence of the camp.

"I recently read Rory Stewart's account of walking through Afghanistan. In the villages all the things mentioned on those signs are common, it wasn't unusual for him to see a guy squatting by the side of the road. That's probably why the signs are there so that the men know it's not accepted in the UK. "

I don’t want to live among people who think it’s ok to go to the toilet outdoors.

Millions must go!

When I first went to Canada as a tourist and saw signs for petting zoos, I thought "That sounds good. We can have hanky panky in front of the animals"!

I'm sure those swimming pool images helped to give some people ideas who otherwwise went in there with pure thoughts..

Exactly!

That’s appalling too!

Why add to the problem?

I think we all know the difference between someone having the occasional slash behind a bush occasionally and someone who has no idea at all how to behave.

"The ‘legal methods’ involve things like overstaying a visa, or coming on a holiday visa and then claiming asylum. Which are not really legal methods at all. We have vanishingly few ‘legal’ methods of coming to the U.K. for the explicit reason of claiming asylum."

The UK has no legal method of coming to this country specifically for the purpose of claiming asylum. In this fact it is just like all of the other countries on the planet.

Sorry yes, my choice of words were poorly phrased in the final sentence. We have vanishingly few safe routes for coming to the UK, Such as Afghan relocations, Hong Kong, Ukraine

Agreed. Britain is not overly generous in its provision of refuge to those in difficulty.
