Why do these simple sounding ideas fail in the real world. Sound bites are great for stirring the pot but nobody seems to think through the mechanisms for achieving these grandeous schemes or their possible consequences. If there is a solution to the problem it will take a multinational involvement that will take many years to achieve. Making pointless threats involving the military that will never be implemented regardless of who is in power only demonstrates a lack of understanding as to how the real world operates.
