And just shows what this Country has become .

The fact he can be parachuted in - after failing twice in a leadership election and then the nec rejecting him sums up the state of politics in the country .

So he is now the messiah ? Look at his record - not exactly a cv worthy of a PM .

I do not give a f about farage reform etc - but I want politicians who have morals respect and put the country first -

He’s previously been an MP, Minister, Chief Secretary to the Treasury, Secretary of State x 2, Shadow Secretary of State x 3, Mayor of one of our major cities, and now an MP again.

Not sure what else he needs on his CV?

The honeymoon period from the public will likely be razor thin and he will have zero latitude to “work it out”.

Tactically, if I was him, I would take a leaf from Trump 2.0 and hit the ground running with a flurry of announcements. Blitz parliament, the media and civil service and use his initial power quickly.

Sunak left a huge negative legacy with the Covid bailouts. I understand, politically, why he did it but the debt increase he left will linger for decades. That is not the mark of an economic genius.

So far the great economic plan seems to be do nothing about all the stuff that ain't working and needs fixing (welfare reforms, immigration, NHS etc), carry on as is and get London (and parts of the South East) to pay for it.... Silence from Sadiq Khan is saying something

He's truly clueless and a union man, watch this space as it will all come tumbling down.

He wants to rebuild UK industry and manufacturing, of course it can be done, but it would be one bitter pill for the nation to swallow. House prices drop through the floor (might be why he wants a LVT) wages would need to drop to make it work so we could compete with the far east.

Things might not be that good now, but if he gets his way it's going to get whole lot worse. If I was 20 years younger I'd be out here, but I'm too close to retiring in few years to move abroad now.
