I've avoided watching listening to politians for a week, and it's been bliss.

You really notice the radio and the tv are their mouthpiece in your life, home, head.

My stress levels and blood pressure have dropped, I feel happier.

I try it often. Go for over a week without social media or any kind of news. Feels amazing!

News bulletins used to be on about half a dozen times a day and cover a wide variety of subjects that included politics.

Now we have 24/7 rolling news and they’re just politics, with the occasional mention of something else.

Radio Caroline is bliss. It doesn't have any news bulletins, except accidental announcements that the King has died!

The OP is absolutely correct. If you don’t listen to any of the noise, it’s surprising how little difference politicians & world events generally make to our day to day lives.

Billy Connolly said ‘Don’t vote, it encourages them’. I think he may have been on to something there!

Is politics worth arguing with strangers on the internet over? Probably not, but I have been frequently guilty of that to my detriment & people in my experience very rarely change their minds anyway…
