Royal Marines have boarded and seized the Russian ship Smyrtos in the English Channel

What will the Kremlin response be ?

Costa Blanca Spain...

Not sure what the response will be but you can bet that there will be one.

This is nothing more than Starmer trying to look "well 'ard" after being humiliated over defence spending.

Someone somewhere is going to have to pay a very high price for this useless oafs grandstanding, or should I say showboating?

"Royal Marines have boarded and seized the Russian ship Smyrtos in the English Channel

a very strongly worded statement about something ridiculous such as blowing up their ships as the marines board them, and then absolutely nothing other than that.

The timing of this stinks... I just heard that 184 Russian sanctioned ships have passed through UK waters between March 26 and May 2026.

Yes and the released MOD video big timing it. Armed RM filmed cqb clearance on a merchant vessel.

I think we can pretty much guarantee an up tick in shadow warfare against us. Ransomware against key companies and services and general stirring trouble wherever they can.

Loved how the MOD released footage of marines 'clearing the ship'. Doubt a real operation involves a cameraman following them.

A Russian warship had fired warning shots near a UK-registered yacht in the English Channel earlier today. Presumably Kremlin consulted before firing

Starmer being tested.

This incident, when you hear the story from the couple on the yacht, has been blown out of all proportion. 5 horn blasts given twice and obviously "Ivan" didn't perceive any response so fired small arms fire into the air. The yacht crew then turn on the engine and do a 90 degree manoeuvre. They wete apparently only 500 yards apart!!

That's a bit harsh. I saw their video interview where they seemed curious that there was no transponder for a vessel they could see. Perhaps they figured no harm finding out and letting authorities know its there. The coastline is big and there's nowhere near enough Navy or air Force to cover it.

Just to add, you could fit a missile system that can manage a nuke warhead on a boat like the Russian one. Keep that in mind.

Thankfully it was a Russian ship, had it been a US warship, it would a case of what no yacht.

Despite all the col regs etc, who was under power who gives way etc, dont go near warships of any nation, simples really.

The stupid couple were asked to make their intentions clear, couple this with that they should know they should be at least 400yds clear of a warship (they sail in the Solent for godsake), a small 2 degree change is not going to cut it. They should have made it clear they were going to change course to open any CPA, they didn't and thus warning shots.

And yes, I've been on both sides of the fence on both warships and yachts.

You actually think "authorities" didn't know it was there ?

No they were fools to go so close to "Ivan"

Letting authorities know? Have you heard of radio? Or indeed mobile phones?

Besides that particular ship, Grigorovich has been shadowed by the RN for days!

A warship can operate in a condition where it does not have to emit anything including nav lights, even in peacetime in international waters. I'm pretty sure the UK and French authorities knew its exact position.

Warships tend not to race around the seas saying here I am, look at me.

Even worse, I've just seen his T-shirt, says it all really or does he think the MOD police cutters guarding warships in the dockyard are there for decoration. It seems they sail in and out Portsmouth harbour to know better. Make stupid decisions win stupid prizes.

Don't worry about it, just make sure you have two weeks of tinned food stored.Youll either get blown to fuck, in which case you won't need the food or you'll get radiation poisoning, so the food will keep you going until you snuff it. But rejoice in the fact all those Russians will be exterminated !
