From the land of haribos.

Are you also following the latest about it of how putin is warning foreign nationals and diplomats that they must leave kyiv as soon as possible because he plans to launch more strikes there?

The reason he is threatening to attack kyiv is because ukraine have improved its drone warfare capabilities in recent months greatly, as a result leading to more successful targeting of russian military.

The response from ukraines foreign minister is not to give in to russia.

What is your view of it, do you think that putin will launch more strikes or do you think like me that it is it empty threats too and how they dont need to evacuate

Reading the recent press reports there is desperation and frustration in Russia for this special military operation. 40% tax revenue being spent on the war with no gains, more soldiers being killed than mobilised. Putin can keep it going but for how much longer.

Yes to more ballistic attacks on Kyiv. Putin has nothing to lose. China apparently have told him not to do it.

I don't believe that evacuating Kyiv is an option. If Ukraine wants to win this war they have to show that they aren't afraid of Russia. Clearing the city would make Russia think that they can issue more such threats, and would make some of Ukraine's allies think they are cowardly. They'll just have to carry on as normal and hope that the Russian threat is just bluster.

Here and there

Isn't it a perfect time for the Baltics to flex their muscles and influence an end to Russian aggression and conflict with Ukraine?

They have many tools they could use to bring about a change, not just military threats.

the problem we have is that we dont learn from history. All the while you have a leader who has his own warped ideas and a strong enough personality to convince others to keep fighting even when its clear there is no way to win then the conflict won't end. Until that person is physically removed from the equation.

It was clear from as early as 1941 that Germany could never actually win WW2, but they still kept fighting and killing until Hitler was killed and the country was absolutely pummelled to its knees.

Replace Hitler with Putin and you get the same situation. But thankfully there is currently no desire, and in truth ability, to steamroller over Russia, killing millions in the process, to smash in the Kremlins front door and say ok, you can stop now

Unfortunately we are now in a political limbo as Putin will never negotiate all the while he is in charge. So it needs an internal political change in Russia which seems a long way away.

And to steel a phrase I heard recently......'you can't win an argument with an idiot as they will always beat you with experience '

Ukraine aren’t afraid of Russia but if Putin starts hitting foreign nationals in Kyiv, embassies etc then the west will bring diplomats and nationals home for their safety as they did in tel Aviv, Iran and Lebanon
