Russia is reportedly sending fuel to Cuba

Let's see how TACO deals with that one

Trump probably rang Putin and asked him to send the fuel.

Nothing new.

The Soviet Union propped up Cuba for decades.

More recently it was Venezuela but that cash has now dried up so they are begging for aid from Russia.

They desperately need fuel and other humanitarian aid. Trump has his continuing excuse of the Iranian crisis, which he constantly created and is sustaining, whilst knowing that the poor citizens of Cuba are struggling. He is certainly no man of peace, or interested in the wellbeing of anyone but himself.

I'm against Russia profiting from oil sales but not it going to Cuba, solely as a 1 way gift to help Cubans, whilst they are isolated from appropriate supplies

Good… the embargo is bad enough but the adding of the fuel blockade was extremely cruel and beyond the pale

For the US to threaten any country with sanctions for sending fuel for humanitarian aid is a step too far

Actually.. that last sentence is not true… Cuba was paying Venezuela for the oil they were getting.. it was when the US attacked Venezuela and took over the oil industry was when those shipments stopped

Did Cuba pay market rates for Venezuelan oil?

Oil shipments to Cuba from Venezuela had been drying up for years prior to the US arresting Maduro simply because Venezuelan oil output had collapsed under the dysfunctional socialist dictatorship.
