UK government borrowing yields now at highest since 2008, beating anything that the Tories achieved in 14 years of failure.

Another sign that Labour's plan for the economy is working, that they can afford to pay lenders more than the Tories ever did.

The writing was on the wall from the first Reeves Budget gilt yields have been rising since.

It will also be interesting to see how the changes to the fiscal rules play out, with the emphasis on financial assets such as student loans to measure the fiscal headroom. Pushback from students recently over repayment and interest, there is a risk that her juggling of the fiscal rules could see valuations disappear and with it the headroom, again!
