Having visited Cuba, and explored the island, I would say that it is not a well run country and living standards are not great.

This is incorrect. Cuba has more doctors per capita than any other country in the world.

When I visited even my chauffeur was a doctor.

And that proves a high standard of living how? Living standards are usually reflected in food availability, housing quality, infrastructure, wages and economic opportunity.

If you have been to Cuba you will know food is scarce, rationed and houses are of poor quality. You would have also seen high unemployment, scaffold holding up scaffold.

I imagine it's a bit like the situation with all the Doctors who cross the Channel-there are just so many of them that some end up working for Just Eats and Uber while they're waiting to start work as Heart Surgeons.
