This should not be necessary

Yeah but you can't send them to the frontline with their ADHD/anxiety/depression/mental health/failure to thrive etc etc....

They wouldn't be trained in modern warfare. The 65 year olds would be.

I doubt they would be on the front line but frankly if it came to it, its way more sensible to chuck us old uns in the firing line rather than sending all the youngsters to their death and leaving an aging population behind with nobody to pay tax.

I can't go, all my reserves kit has shrank in the loft. In fact I don't think any of it would qualify as current issues uniform now after 26 years as a civvy!

How do you work that out? Someone that left the Army 20 years ago is not going to know anything about modern warfare.

I didn't think it through did I. I assumed the 65 year olds would have been in the armed forces recently 🤦

people who left the army 20 years ago won't be recalled under this latest amendment to reservist rules.

Form the Woke Grenadiers for the under 25's. Save a fortune on equipment, just tell them to identify as soldiers.

What we need is 16-year olds, in their bedrooms, controlling swarms of killer drones.

"So long that it stayed within their 10 minute attention span."

Not true. An 8 year old can hyper-fixate on gaming for several hours.

Just don't tell them it's real humans...

Introduce conscription, and the problem of rubber boats crossing the Channel would end over night.

They complain now about the conditions of living in army barracks and old training camps. Don't think they would want to do the traning as well, to get them fit to fight.

We think it's part of a broader strategy of preparedness the corrupt government is trying. They think it will be easier to sell conscription if they say, 'look the veterans are already involved'.

Are any ex forces here actually prepared to fight a foreign power to protect what the UK establishment has done to it? Hubby wouldn't that's for sure. If we had regime change and mass deportations that would be another story of course.

I hope that when on night manoeuvres, they'll excuse me when I am caught short. It's usually about 4am that my bladder starts telling me to get up, so if Vlad can just put any planning on hold for 10 minutes, I promise that I will be ready by 4.15.

As a 65yr old vet, i'd be happy to go back in a training/admin role, not to the front. Already done one war (gulf 91). i'd also need a few extra stripes too
