"Genuinely! Not healthy to be negative all the time so... Getting rid of PCC's Their original growth plans were sensible. Nothing has happened. I wouldn’t hold your breath on these plans.

"Genuinely! Not healthy to be negative all the time so... Getting rid of PCC's Because of the way these ones have been costed and government capped, these are absolutely doable because the northern half of the old HS2 project has done a lot of the land procurement and planning Also they are finally doing what I have been screaming out for them to do for ages, which is make use of freight only and upgrade them for passengers service.. which in the grand scheme of things is such a cheap thing to do.. for example, the proposed west London orbital… the Washington loop on the Tyne and Wear metro, the reopening of the alternative Newcastle to Durham line Sorry.. transport nerd here… reopening lines with now expanding urban populations makes so much more sense than building new roads

"Ill tell you one big thing they have done. Not bleated on about the UK being broken, negativity breeds negativity. The UK is far far far from broken." The alliteration is the main reason for people enjoying bandying the Broken Britain phrase about. I vote we start saying something similar about France!

"Interesting that the GfK Consumer Confidence Barometer is showing a sustained difference in confidence between those under 50 and those over 50 especially in the under 30 group. Younger people are much more positive than the negative whingers aged over 50. Looking at the negativity on here about Labour's turnaround of the UK it's worth looking at the moaners' age. Many are over 50 and don't seem to understand results cannot be instant. I guess if you are still a low achiever by the time you reach 50, it's blame everyone else time, especially the government of the day? Confidence through naivety methinks. I could afford to semi retire at 47 and fully retired at 55. I'll take that "low achievement" thanks. Half of the parliamentary Labour party are blaming this "government of the day".

"I would credit them with how they have dealt with Trump so far. Starmer in particular seems to have developed a reasonable relationship with Trump which given the history of comments of some of his MP's must have been difficult. As recent events have shown, Trump is so unpredictable so I do believe that is an achievement. Shame about the rest of it " Starmer seems much happier with foreign affairs than domestic stuff.

Presumably not, but it will be a good one if it catches on!
