The surge in Green Party membership — now breaking 100,000 and still climbing — is one of the clearest signs yet that Labour’s grip on progressive voters is weakening. People aren’t drifting to Reform; they’re peeling away from Labour because they feel politically homeless — disillusioned by centrism and silence on issues that matter. Climate, Gaza, electoral reform — and for many of us, trans rights. The Greens are now the only major party consistently and vocally standing with trans people, and I’m one of those who joined because of that. When people are willing to back the Greens despite first-past-the-post, that’s not apathy — that’s protest. And it’s one Labour should be very worried about. | |||

" you are right to bring up workers rights, why has the workers rights bill not got through parliament yet? it looks as if it will be further watered down , they have a large majority & could push it through if they truly believed in it | |||

Reform could have done better but it was pretty obvious that there was quite a lot of tactical voting. Having a nationalist to throw your protest vote at is all fine and dandy in Wales and Scotland. But that won't work in England, especially the north. For Labour it was a disaster no matter which way you look at it. They had held that seat from day one and the area has been solid Labour for a hundred years and they didn't get pipped into second place. They finished third. Serious alarm bells in No 10 methinks. | |||

Businesses always say that if any improvements in wages or conditions are proposed . unemployment is lower than it was when I started working despite improvements in health & safety, shorter hours, minimum wage etc. | |||

under the new voting system next year any party with less than 12% does not get any seats so a 2 horse race? "probably .... welsh culturalism on the one side and english nationalism which is unappealing to the majority on the other. | |||
