Has Putin humiliated trump ?

Trump isn't the type to accept humiliation.

I wonder stupid reaction he'll come up with or is there anyone capable of reigning him in ?

This must be about the tenth thread you have started about Trump.

Did one of his courses cancel your booking or something?

I think we can take it as read that you aren’t a fan.

I’m not sure if humiliation is the right word, but I do get what you mean. He’s not the most guarded when it comes to reacting on social media to real world issues.

The Trump - Starmer relationship is going to get more strained I think as well.

You don’t have to answer of course, but are you anti-Trump just because you think he’s an idiot (I share that view by the way) because he’s a republican or both.

I don't know if it's useful to describe Trump as a Republican since he's basically turned the party into the Trump party, quite different from what Republicanism used to look like even as recently as W.

I get what you mean, but he was the republican candidate voted for by the republican party at the last presidential election. So I think my question is still valid.

Struggling to think what Trump can do to manipulate a kgb assassin. The rest of the world has failed miserably to stop Putin.

I have zero interest in US politics except when their actions affect me, but running a country by posts on social media with no thought for consequences makes him look like an idiot, and while in principle understand his application of tarrifs to encourage people to buy US made goods, i can't figure out whether he is genuinely stupid telling the taxpayers that other countries are paying billions in tarrifs or just lieing.

Sum up, it's seems to be all about him, and yes I do think he's an idiot.

And I'm also think that getting to where he is today was more about what information he has on others as opposed to what he can offer the country.

Maybe there's more to the Epstein files that well never know

It doesn't seem like a major shift in dynamic between them.

Putin has always had the upper hand between the two of them. Trump will always say he's had a great victory, everyone is saying so.

I agree wholeheartedly. I too have no interest in US politics as such. He needs to hire a buffer, someone to do his social media posting for him, but delay the actual posting by a couple of hours to give Trump time to calm down and probably change his tune.

Let’s put it another way….

It’s not the republican party that it was before Trump, it’s got a much more authoritarian tint to it!

So anyway.. he likes the thought of being a strong man, which is why he gravitates towards that type of person… but Putin basically plays him like a puppet

He has basically bought time with the promise of progress that never happens… time delays greater sanctions, higher tariffs, further military action evt….

Why do you think Putin has humiliated Trump?

Trump is working on getting peace in Ukraine. There might be a hundred reasons why he is doing it, but if that’s the outcome then good for him.

I mean what did Biden do to end the war? Nothing

What have the UK and EU done to end the war? Nothing

Europe is quite happy to keep funding the war by buying Russian gas and at the same time spewing out endless and pointless high minded posturing which doesn’t amount to a can of beans. And happy to fight to the last Ukrainian.

If Europe is so committed to the war then let them step in and pick up the reins. Let’s see a total embargo on all Russian exports. Let’s see EU troops on the ground.

None of this is ever going to happen. As usual the EU is just full of hypocritical shit.

And then Trump gets it in the neck for actually trying to do something to end the carnage.

Can say the same about the Labour Party since the general election. Can probably say the same about the democrats leading up to their election.

Interestingly enough i couldn’t tell you who the leader of the Lib Dem’s is, and that probably the first time id have said that.

Can the same be said about the Labour Party…..not really.. but they have a history of purges, like the people who follow kinnock after Michael foot, the purge of people after Corbyn became leader, then the other direction once starmer became PM……

rather than one big lurch under trump with the republicans…. They were always moderate right ish

I don’t think the same can the said of the democrats because they have always had the pressure of being “big tent” .. the phrase was Win the in house election to the left, but you then win the general election by then drifting back to the centre

I suppose pre trump you could argue republicans didn’t have to drift as far right to win there in house elections as democrats had to drift left

But yes… Putin played Trump enough to buy time till the next lot of threats.. then he will play him again with hope to buy more time.. and so on and so on

Are they? So why are the European leaders standing in attendance and all praising him?

What’s your alternative?

And try and make it realistic.

Not “bomb Moscow” etc.

Less humiliated than coming to the conclusion that there's absolutely no interest in his becoming further involved in a European/Russian "dispute".

It's up to us to sort it out, but since the Ukraine is neither part of "his" NATO nor "our" EU, they're pretty well fucked.

European leaders are scared stiff because he has immense power and the ability to make their lives (and countries) painful.

Alternative for what? It was a simple answer to a simple question. Putin humiliated Trump. People think he has been played.

I don’t think it’s as much “scared stiff” as much as “playing to his ego to get what they need” .. same as the tech bros, same as the Middle East leaders

Funny thing being.. in this week episode of South Park, even they play this up …

Putin is his minder, you could see that in the non press conference.

That's who he and Farage admire that's the world they want
