A centrist friend of mine once said, "If the shouty far right and far left all buggered off, things would be a lot quieter. Then the rest of us in the middle can bimble along in peace". The idea that he’s paid for from the licence fee which is public money to all intents and purposes 2. The BBC is meant to be impartial. They aren’t of course, but when they claim they are it kinda sticks in some people’s craw that one of their highest profile presenters blasts racist messages on social media. If it was the head of British Gas and a different race, there would be rioting in the streets if they didn’t resign. | |||

People see him in the spotlight supporting things they think, that leads to them trusting him and that comes with responsibility. | |||
