The letter that came with my rates bill states that in Somerset 66% of the rates go to the care of children and adults, also it can cost upto £25000.00 per week to care for a child with complex needs, this seems like a staggering amount to me, would love to see a break down of these figures, can't help but think there is some corruption going on here.

Who wants to deal with a screaming, kicking, biting child, in a country where using stern words can land you in court? How much would you need to be paid to withstand the abuse over and over again, and calmly deal with the court cases over the false allegations?

And the really difficult ones need 24/7 care, which means a lot of staff working in shifts, and they can't work long shifts when caring for a difficult child.

Any company taking that on would need to build up a significant fund for compensation, both for the child if something bad was done to them, or for the carer if the kid did something bad to them. You can't get insurance for that kind of risk.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to add it all up and come to £25,000 a week to handle the most difficult cases.

Half a million odd of those adults will be in nursing and care homes at £1k a week a head. 34.9% self funded.

Another 300,000 in rehab

100,000 children in care

These things cost money

I worked out £12500 is the correct amount.

They probably bumped it up to cover new clients in the pipeline.

Admin is minimal, computers do most of the work.

Transport, perks and car leasing, conferences and sex parties eat up the bulk of the money, Staff Xmas party. Staff Training.

The client only sees 250£ a week tops.
