A comment by someone over the cuts to carers migrating here and unable to bring their family.

Puhlease, no-one is forcing them here and they will be paid at least the minimum wage.

What it has done, and to no-one's surprise, is the drop in carers migrating here.

Don't people say the oddest things and not even have the surname Trump

No-one forces women from Vietnam and Thailand from leaving their families and going working in the homes of the wealthy in Dubai but when you haven't got a pot to piss in back home desperate people make desperate choices.

I watched a program where one women hadn't seen her son for 4 years.

It still isn't modern s lavery though. It is giving an option to someone who may have none. It's not something I would ever have considered and I feel sympathy for those people.

I have actually worked in an environment that brought nurses from the Philippines. Their partners have then followed them, sometimes years later when they have also qualified as nurses or become support workers or carers elsewhere. If this culture can have such an good work ethic, then others can too.

Most parents work nowadays. The stay at home parent is rare due to economic pressures.

Farage was on TV saying these people should have short term visas and waive their rights to healthcare. That is most definitely wrong. If we, as a country, are begging people to be carers here and leave their families, they should still have a right to healthcare. He takes the piss.

But this is covered in the Temporary Working Visa application though the "Immigration Health Surcharge" (IHS), currently costing £1,035 per year. If the cost is paid, where's the problem?

I don’t know what the comment was but I don’t see why it is an issue for someone to leave their family behind whilst they go to work overseas on a short term visa.

I have done it. I left the family behind and worked in a foreign country because the pay was better than I could earn here. My dad did it when I was young.

I was offered the job because I had skills the other country lacked. Same for my father when I was a kid. The country wanted the job done and were prepared to pay the wage I wanted.

Once the job was done my visa expired and they kicked me out (just like they kicked my dad out) and we all went our ways. Everyone is happy.
